So Tired of...
Revisado: 07-03-15
I've enjoyed this series, but I just can't stand Peter. I'm really hoping Carlotta comes to her senses soon. The guy is so boring and smothering. At this point I'd rather Carlotta just end up alone. I've really come around to Jack, but that relationship is now a mess. Coop seems to have moved on...let's hope book 8, which I hear is the last, ends on a good note.

Love the story, but not the narrator
Revisado: 06-05-15
The narrator is very distracting! There are certain ways she pronounces words like "garage" and "produce" that I found highly annoying. They almost sound like foreign words that I had to replay in order to understand. But the story is good and I'm going to try to over look it.

Charley sees dead people. That's right, she sees dead people. And it's her job to convince them to "go into the light." But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e., murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she's been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

Couldn't Get Into It
Revisado: 05-26-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It was a way to pass time. I'm still not in love with it though.
What could Darynda Jones have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Maybe cut out all the stars crashing and Earth shattering stuff regarding the love story between Charley and Reyes. It felt a little too corny.
What three words best describe Lorelei King’s performance?
Dramatic, sarcastic, witty.
Did First Grave on the Right inspire you to do anything?
No.
Any additional comments?
I really thought I'd like this one, but I shall move on to a different series.

Twisty, Dark and Light
Revisado: 05-21-15
If you could sum up Luckiest Girl Alive in three words, what would they be?
Twisty, dark, light.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes, and no. But I will say it was interesting and kept me listening far later than I intended each night. I really felt for Ani.
What about Madeleine Maby’s performance did you like?
She nailed the cold successful New Yorker voice. It seems she has a knack for East coast accents.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but sadly it took me a few days to complete.
Any additional comments?
I found that being in the same age group as Ani, the cultural references really hit home. It was easy to imagine being Ani at 14 and dealing with all the turmoil she went through.

Love This Series
Revisado: 05-21-15
What made the experience of listening to Day Shift the most enjoyable?
The narrator's voice really made this book so much more enjoyable for me.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Day Shift?
Finding out who these characters really are.
Which scene was your favorite?
The scene with the three tigers was a favorite.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I don't think the intention was to cry, but laugh I certainly did.
Any additional comments?
Great book, loved the first one too. Love how some of these characters are minor ones from the Sookie Stackhouse series.

Good, But No Rosie Project
Revisado: 02-13-15
What did you like best about The Rosie Effect? What did you like least?
I loved Don Tillman, I am loyal toward his character no matter how badly he screws up. What I didn't like was Rosie. I found her to be less endearing and straight up mean in this installment.
Would you recommend The Rosie Effect to your friends? Why or why not?
I would recommend The Rosie Project first, and then let them decide about the second book. I feel like this book and the first are kind of subjective. Not everyone will like them and they kind of appeal to a certain type of person.
What about Dan O'Grady’s performance did you like?
Dan O' Grady brings Don to life. Seriously, I cannot picture what this audio would sound like without him. He makes the character real.
Was The Rosie Effect worth the listening time?
Yes, I do think it was, but again I had issues with the behavior of Rosie who was so wickedly amazing in TRP. I understand that she is pregnant in this one, but I've never met a pregnant woman more annoying, cold or dejecting as Rosie.
Any additional comments?
I think fans of TRP will enjoy it. Don's adventures through life make it a very enjoyable read.

Very Entertaining!
Revisado: 02-13-15
Where does Veronica Mars: Mr. Kiss and Tell rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I really enjoyed this one. Probably in my top 5 for the last six months.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Sort of. I think it was well known by half way through who dunit. But, there was a lot of other stuff going on that carried it through to the end.
What does Rebecca Lowman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I'm a fan of Ms. Lowman as I loved her other narrations. HOWEVER, I think I was spoiled by having Kristen Bell read the first book, that I was a bit disappointed with Mr. Kiss and Tell. It should be a written rule that any Veronica Mars book should be narrated by Kristen Bell.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The past comes back to haunt you.
Any additional comments?
I'm biased as I am a huge VM's fan. So, I'd probably like anything they threw at me no matter how terrible. However, as I've learned they can do what they want, but it needs to be voiced by Kristen Bell. Always.

Okay
Revisado: 02-13-15
What did you love best about When?
I enjoyed the overall story, but I had issues with some of the characters, which became distracting and ruined the book for me. Some of the things that happened within the book were unexpected, while others were so well foretold all that was missing was a neon sign.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the idea of a person being able to read people's death dates. That was what drew me in.
Which character – as performed by Whitney Dykhouse – was your favorite?
I suppose Maddie was performed best by the narrator.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, not really. I found that I grew frustrated with the stupid actions of Maddie and her BFF. Some of their choices made me want to scream as they were just so dumb. It was probably the hardest thing to get through in terms of enjoyment toward the story. I found I had to stop listening, just to calm down.
Any additional comments?
I seriously hope that Victoria Laurie goes back to the drawing board with the two main characters of Maddie and Stubs. I would love it if she made them a bit more intelligent when it comes to common sense/ right or wrong situations. Because if either of these kids were my own, I'd probably drink just like one of the parents in the story did.
Also another gripe I have was the way the "bullying" issue was handled. I cannot believe how it was presented let alone the solution that was used to resolve it. I don't know of any parent who would allow their child to continue going to school were such horrible behavior and abuse was shown toward them. That was completely ludicrous!
Anyhow, this is supposed to be a new series, so here's to hoping some improvements are made, because there is a lot of promise here.

Toss together a quiet barista with a not-so-lawful side-business, a crazy Vietnam Vet, a pothead, a drag queen, family and friends who will not mind their own business, a few stun guns, and a bag of diamonds, and mix them all up with some shootings, a high-speed chase and car bombs exploding, then hang on for your first wild Rock Chick ride.

Revisado: 12-30-14
Would you try another book from Kristen Ashley and/or Susannah Jones?
No, I don't think I will continue with Kristen Ashley. Maybe a book voiced by Susannah Jones. The story was just not my cup of tea.
Would you be willing to try another book from Kristen Ashley? Why or why not?
No. I didn't really like the characters too much and the male characters more importantly were jerks. Kind of a turn off when you're supposed to be rooting for the female character to get with one of them.
Would you be willing to try another one of Susannah Jones’s performances?
I might.
Was Rock Chick worth the listening time?
No. I was excited at first, but the characters became unlikable. Too overbearing, macho and controlling.

I Love Amy Poehler...
Revisado: 12-30-14
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I'm not sure. I really love Amy Poehler, but this book was just too chaotic for me. There were too many voices and the stories just jumped around. I simply lost interest. Maybe this is one book that needs to actually be read in a physical form.
Has Yes Please turned you off from other books in this genre?
Sadly, yes. I was hesitant to buy this because I hadn't read too many of this genre. I will probably not listen to anymore.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I loved Amy Poehler, but the other voices just made it kind of confusing for me. I think this might a book to read, rather than listen to. Maybe if it were just Amy's voice it would have been better.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I liked the honesty of the book, but I didn't finish it. I simply could not continue. Which makes me sad. I may check it out from my library to read it again.
