Very disappointing narration
Revisado: 01-11-24
I have been listening to all of this series back to back. I am very disappointed in the choice of narration for this book for multiple reasons. The original narrator, CJ, was absolutely amazing. She encapsulated the persona so well and reflected the writing in her tone and delivery. Unfortunately, the narrator with this story was very lacking for me. While she read the story very well, her tone and pitch and delivery were horrible. She made Kay sound like an emotional wreck just flailing through life. When it is specifically noted that she is very reserved and only shows her emotions and vulnerable side to a select few. I'm also really disappointed with the narration change because this was a very pivotal book in the series. A lot of things happened and I didn't even get to experience the story as part of the continuation because I was so distracted by the overly dramatic presentation of the book.

Historia
Three years ago in a large Victorian house on the Jersey Shore in the town of Harbor Haven, fledgling private investigator Paul and his client, Maxie Malone, were murdered. Since then, recent divorcée and reluctant ghost whisperer Alison Kerby and her 10-year-old daughter, Melissa, have moved in and converted the place to a guesthouse, where Maxie and Paul are now checked in for an eternity and ready to solve any case that comes their way - or at least spook the guests (who love it). Alison’s got a lot on her plate at the moment, however, so when Paul discovers the 300-year-old ghost of a small boy in the house, he decides not to involve her in the case.

Unfortunately, the narration is just not great
Revisado: 10-10-23
I have been bingeing this series and I was surprised to see a short story from Paul's perspective with a different narrator. It's already hard to switch narrators when you have a consistent one book-to-book, but it's especially hard when you have the amazing Amanda Ronconi. This narrator was not at all how I envision Paul and his voices were just not where they needed to be. I couldn't distinguish between several of the characters and he was completely unable to portray a woman convincingly. I hate leaving mediocre reviews, but this was just disappointing. Like the other listeners, I was only able to get through it because I knew it was short. On to the next one!

Historia
There are 206 bones in the human body. Forensic anthropologists know them intimately, can read in them stories of brief or long lives and use them to reconstruct every kind of violent end. 206 Bones opens with Tempe regaining consciousness and discovering that she is in some kind of very small, very dark, very cold enclosed space. She is bound, hands to feet. Who wants Tempe dead, or at least out of the way, and why? Tempe begins slowly to reconstruct...

Very good!
Revisado: 07-07-23
I truly don't understand why people are rating this book so low. I agree with the other reviewer that I feel like I wasn't even listening to the same book as they were. This is definitely at the same level as the other Kathy Reichs books. I have been binging all of her books from the beginning and just finished this book. It was very good! There was no more French in this book than in any of her others. If it wasn't immediately obvious what they were saying in French, she instantly translated it. It's not hard to follow at all. And Linda's performance on these books is fantastic. So if you are a fan of this series, this is a good one to read or listen to.

Historia
I knocked up my best friend's sister. Let's start with how she decided to inform me and Pacey the news...together. Imagine that nightmare. I was going into what I thought was a hockey marketing meeting, and then bam! I'm going to be a dad and my best friend/teammate is attempting to imprint my face with his fist. Threats were tossed around, friendships were revoked, and then I was marched up to her apartment, suitcases in hand, and forced to live with her so I could take care of her every need. Now I'm finding it harder and harder not to fall for my best friend's little sister.

I enjoyed it
Revisado: 04-11-22
Pretty good! Entertaining and enjoyable. There were moments that irritated me, but that's simply from being a 3rd party looking in, being annoyed at the choices being made. Also, this book is GRAPHIC. If you are not a fan of graphic love scenes, stay away. If you are, there are many to be had.

Historia
If Darcy Barrett hadn’t met her dream man when she was eight years old, the rest of the male population wouldn’t be such a let-down. No one measures up to Tom Valeska, aka the best man on Earth, not in looks, brain, or heart. Even worse is the knowledge that her twin brother Jamie saw him first, and claimed him forever as his best friend. Tom’s off limits and loyal to her brother, 99 percent. One percent of Tom has had to be enough for Darcy, and her adoration has been sustained by his shy kindness. And if she’s honest, his tight t-shirts.

I'll give it a "meh"
Revisado: 01-11-22
First, I absolutely loved the narrator. Story was genuinely frustrating because they seemed so clueless for 75% of the book. Moving and talking around each other in a way that was so oblivious it was maddening. I held on and the end was pretty good. I probably liked it more than many others since it was about twins and I have twins so I enjoyed their dynamic especially once they were together. The additional epilogue at the end for The Hating Game was fantastic. Had no idea that would be an extra treat at the end. Too bad she can't do a sequel to that.

Historia
When NYPD detective Marie Reinhart met Nessa Roth, a Manhattan socialite and dabbler in the occult, sparks flew. Then came the gunfire. Nessa and Marie are the Witch and her Knight, characters from a fairy tale brought to life and trapped in an endless curse: to meet, fall in love, and be torn from each other’s arms by violent death, again and again for all eternity. Now they have one slim chance to escape their doom. It lies in Wisdom's Grave, the resting-place of the first witch who ever lived, and the wellspring of magic.

Fantastic Series
Revisado: 07-17-21
I absolutely love Craig Schaefer's books in this world. And this trilogy is fantastic. I have read them a couple times and am now listening to them and it's very enjoyable. The voice actors have been really great for Daniel Faust and Harmony, but Susanna Jones beats them all!! She is so good at actually acting out the words in the right emotion and it had been a true pleasure to listen to this trilogy.
