One of the best of American authors
Revisado: 12-15-24
Between C. Johnson's poetry in motion and George Guidall's voice narrating, never has there been a happier marriage. The author never fails to cause my heart to ache by making me leave the characters I love at the end of each novel. Walt is a grounded & stable man with wonderful nuances who does what is right. It is a clear cut world view that never alienates the reader. Lucian was a wonderful bit of humor at the end & who doesn't love Henry Standing Bear? Henry & Walt are wonderful foils to one another. Many thanks to the author. Only problem with this book is that I didn't want it to end.

Likeable Characters & Unusual Storyline
Revisado: 03-16-24
This was a lot of story compacted into one book. Author had a knack for creating likeable and believable characters. The side characters we encounter could be developed into books of their own. I enjoyed this novel and actually listened all the way to the end. I read a lot of books while I am at work, many at the same time because I lose interest easily. This one kept my attention. Not the most developed stories but interesting ideas. Which. I loved.

I should have known better!
Revisado: 10-21-23
The narrator was great, storyline could have been amazing, but that is where it ends. It's a pathetic listen where King decides to vent all of his delusional old man politics. It's embarrassing. His understanding of Covid and the vaccines are so patently out of touch with reality, along with his elitist and very personal hate of Trump, I thought I could plow through the first hour of reading, but he just couldn't let it go. Evidently letting go and giving his fans of decades a truly masterful tale would be more horror than he could stand! He has surrounded himself with "yes men" and it's really a shame - I would have been reading King for close to 40 years. I'm done trying with this.
King, you'll never read this, but you are ruining the legacy you built as a young man. Find someone who will argue the opposite of what you believe and keep them around. They would be a true friend. As of now, in many of your fan's minds will be their thoughts, "King was an amazing writer. Pet Sematary is unmatched in terror. The Stand preoccupied my mind to this day. The Dark Towers was pure poetry. Why did he have to ruin it all with his political tripe?" Ugh.

Truly excellent writing
Revisado: 07-05-23
Worth the credit. I can't believe I had never heard of this author before. Psychologically disturbing with a bit of depth if you sit and actually think about what the author is telling, however, I do not like to think too deeply and this was just a fantastic listen.

Hated it. Stopped after an hour.
Revisado: 05-16-22
Gratuitous violence being vividly depicted. Made me awful on the inside and the “all star” cast really brought it to life and made it even worse. No thanks. I love Joe Hill’s writing, but this was just a crap show for me. I never write reviews and this one upset my system enough to actually write!

Fantastic Characters - Read all of the books!
Revisado: 06-22-19
As an educated, but occasional writer my strongest suit is character development with plot being my weakest, so this review will focus on characterization and this book knocks it out of the park. I love these books due to the love I have for the two main characters. I actually read the Harry Potter novels after I accidentally discovered that Galbraith was...I honestly have trouble remembering the true name of the author (I’ve been trying to remember her real name for a month and refuse to Google it...I am getting OLD). I always think of “Galbraith” which is a testament to just how strong the author’s voice and ability to morph their writing has become. Start at the beginning.
On another completely different note, I’d love to see a picture of how other reader’s envision Cormin; it would be fascinating. R
Anyway, this is a book worth adding to your library.

Historia
It was no secret that journalist Jack Sparks had been researching the occult for his new book. No stranger to controversy, he'd already triggered a furious Twitter storm by mocking an exorcism he witnessed. Then there was that video: 40 seconds of chilling footage that Jack repeatedly claimed was not of his making, yet it was posted from his own YouTube account. Nobody knew what happened to Jack in the days that followed - until now.

Solid & Rather Frightening
Revisado: 10-15-18
I have amassed a VAST library of
Audible books mainly within the horror genre. Truthfully, 75% of the books I have listened to fall to the wayside and even after reading the “details” I struggle to remember and draw blanks as to what the book was even about. This book DOES NOT fall into that category. This was truly a unique and frightening tale with an excellent ending. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It has been well over a year since I listened to this book and thought it was time to give it the praise it deserves.

Listened to it twice
Revisado: 08-14-18
After listening to Tom on Joe Rogan’s podcast (of which I have to use earbuds) I decided to give this book a go. I’ve been rather low in mood as of late and this had me laughing aloud repeatedly. I was also able to listen to it in front of my 7 & 14 year old while cooking. Mr.Papa is a charming and “normal” type personality that had tears rolling down my cheeks from laughter. I loved it and even listened to it a second time so I made sure I caught all of his jokes. Many thanks to the author. As an aside, I listen to a lot of books and podcasts every month and this stands out among supposed “all stars”.
