Historia
Gabe escaped the Ether with the ultimate prize, and he thought that meant he was done with deadly cosmic games. But the nightmares infesting his life have different plans, and they’re not asking nicely before dragging him back in. It turns out holding all the power in the universe doesn’t mean much if you have no idea what to do with it. So together with Heather, he embarks on a frantic race to collect the remaining six Iglas and stave off the coming darkness. And in the process, they discover just how much deeper their problems go.

A fantastic addition to a great series
Revisado: 06-03-24
The series really hits its stride with this one. I’m sure it’s partly because the authors reading it, but the feeling he gives his story is just incredible through the dialogue and everything in between. So excited to see where this story goes, definitely recommending it to all my friends

I wasnt ready for it to end, but it was a great ending, and this series was by far one of my favorites. I really hope we get more stories from this universe, as its one of Actus’ best

Soon after, the same town draws another visitor police officer Keri, who recently received a mysterious letter from her childhood friend. Unfortunately average
Revisado: 04-14-24
The story started off well enough, setting the scene of an innsmouth-esque town plagued by eldritch horrors. But then everything happened all at once, there was no build up, too many POVs without time to get to know the characters, and switching immediately to more action with no rest between, absolutely no build up of tension or mystery, it’s all laid out quite obviously, and a new Cthulhu Mythos or general horror creature is introduced basically every time we see a new character, which got very stale very fast. Also, the ending was just extremely lackluster and missed the mark personally for the indescribable dread of cosmic horror. Great narrator though, but I won’t finish the series.

I hadn’t realized this was to the be finale book of the series, but man it was so satisfying. Nice way to wrap things up but leave the universe open for more stories.

Slow start but worth the wait
Revisado: 12-01-21
First 4 hours of the book barely held my attention. I was much more interested in the concepts and world building than with the characters themselves. Came back to it months later, started where I left off and was 20 minutes it I was absorbed in the rest of the story. Another fantastic world in the authors universe. Hardest part was going from cradle to this series and having the same narrator do the same voices for totally different characters.

Great story, ok narration
Revisado: 02-19-21
The story is a good one. Definitely a twist at the ending I didn’t see coming. The narrator is good, but I don’t think he was the right choice for this book. He’s kinda stuck between emotionless and mildly horrified for most of it and it definitely takes away from the immersion into the story but overall I still recommend it.

Historia
James Crowley met his mortal end in a hail of gunfire. Now, he finds himself in purgatory, serving the White Throne to avoid falling to hell. Not quite undead, though not alive either, the best he can hope for is to work off his servitude and fade away. His not-so-sacred duty as a Hand of God? Use his new abilities to hunt down demonic beings that have infiltrated the mortal realm. This time, the White Throne has sent him to the middle of nowhere: a Western town called Dead Acre with a saloon, a moldy church, and little else worth talking about. There isn’t even a sheriff.

Great short story that hits the ground running, let’s you know everything you need to about the world without long explanations so you can stay immersed in the nonstop plot, and the best choice for a narrator you could get for a Wild West story like this.

Realistic characters in a modern world influenced by lovecraftian tales. The story picks up fast enough, isn’t too hard to get into, and is generally very enjoyable throughout. Definitely can’t wait for the next one

Historia
For the first time ever, the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society has produced an audio recording of all of Lovecraft's stories. These are not dramatizations like our Dark Adventure Radio Theatre - rather, this is an audiobook of the original stories, in all-new, never-before-heard recordings made by the HPLHS' own Andrew Leman and Sean Branney exclusively for this collection. This collection spans his entire career from his earliest surviving works of childhood to stories completed shortly before his death. All tales include original music by HPLHS composer Troy Sterling Nies.

Revisado: 06-26-19
I’ve gotten several other HPL collections to listen to and they have all been awful in some way or another. But these guys really deliver a fantastic performance and cover a much wider range of stories and shorts than any other collection I’ve tried. Highly recommend
