Historia
Some lines should never be crossed. Police corruption, an investigation that ends in tragedy and the mystery of a little girl’s silence – three unconnected events that will prove to be linked by one small town. While detective Cormac Reilly faces enemies at work and trouble in his personal life, garda Peter Fisher is relocated out of Galway with the threat of prosecution hanging over his head. But even that is not as terrible as having to work for his overbearing father, the local copper for the pretty seaside town of Roundstone.

Now that we have reached a third novel in the Cormac Reilly series, the characters have settled in with the readers and I, for one, just want more! Our narrator continues to bring these books to life beautifully!

Excellent Sophomore Entry Into A Series!
Revisado: 11-15-23
The Scholar is a quality follow-up to The Ruin, the first book in the Cormac Reilly series. The mystery was engaging, as was the continued development of returning characters and relationships. The same narrator did another excellent job!

Excellent Mystery Set in Ireland!
Revisado: 11-07-23
This book was a very good mystery and an excellent start to what will, hopefully, become a long-running detective series. The characters were well-drawn, with enough left unsaid about the detectives in the squad to be addressed in subsequent books. The narrator was also extremely good. Definitely recommend!

Revisado: 10-17-23
The third installment in the Atticus Priest series doesn't disappoint and leaves the reader wanting more, as usual! Atticus, Mac and Bandit are on top form and, hopefully, the introduction of young policewoman, Francine, is just the beginning of her story!

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the story was compelling and that it was told very well from both the points of view of the mother and daughter. I also felt Kate Mara did a very good job of narrating both characters. Definitely recommend!

A dark history lingers in Chapel Croft. Five hundred years ago, local Protestant martyrs were betrayed - then burned. Thirty years ago, two teenage girls disappeared without a trace. And a few weeks ago, the vicar of the local parish hanged himself in the nave of the church. Instead, Jack finds a town rife with conspiracies and secrets, and is greeted with a strange welcome package.

Her Very Best!
Revisado: 07-20-23
Critics and fans alike have coined "The Burning Girls" C.J. Tudor's best work and I agree completely! The perfect combination of a human family story with a deep family secret, signature Tudor creepiness and a strangely satisfying, almost uplifting ending. As always, Richard Armitage's narration was excellent, but Gemma Whelan more than matched it. I could listen to her all the time! This one is not to be missed!

Wow-Unstoppable Action and Intrigue!
Revisado: 06-30-23
This was a rollercoaster of a listen and I never lost focus for a minute! In the vein of "Orphan Black", it intertwined the amazing but potentially dangerous effects of scientific discovery with a really human story and fascinating characters. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire ride! Richard Armitage and Nicola Walker were perfect narrators and Ms. Walker, in particular, with her significant acting chops, brought her character to life. Highly recommend!

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Excellent Memoir!
Revisado: 06-26-23
This raw, honest memoir proves that you never really know what is going on behind closed doors. I watched ICarly and Sam and Cat with my son and those shows gave us so much pleasure-little did we know how much one of the stars was struggling. The book is captivating from beginning to end and, while devastating, Jennette McCurdy's deadpan delivery makes certain moments laugh out loud funny. I'm rooting for her continued recovery and future success-she is stronger than she thinks.
