Good Filler I Guess

If you want something to fall asleep to this makes a good option. Story is lackluster and overall writing is truly wanting. It’s basically a generic version of every other LITRPG out there minus the effort of caring about a good story. If you’re a teenager with nothing else to do then you’ll probably think it’s pretty good. Written with the intent to try and make a quick buck rather than care about a good story people actually want to read🤷‍♂️

Not amazing to me but entertaining enough

I wasn’t enthralled by this at all, some of the jokes aren’t very funny like they’re probably supposed to be. I think my brother really liked it when he listened to it though, so I guess it’s all about personal opinion. When you run out of other books, it’s a good filler series until you can buy new ones.

Overall I liked the story mostly. Performance was very lacking though. Young characters were alright but some of the old characters from previous books were a joke. It was hard to stomach. Garred sounded like a fop who would hide behind women and children before facing demons. Same with Abban and Jardir. Leesha wasn’t much better. Plus they pronounced everything wrong compared to the original books. Like, why wouldn’t your narrators listen to the first books and keep it the same? Get it right or don’t try. Like I said, performance was hard to stomach half the book, who let that pass snuff? But the story was alright for what it was. If there are any more books I hope they’re better thought out. The original series deserves better.

Stats stats stats……write more than filler please. RPG books are fun when done right….this one? Meeehhhhh, it’s exhausting. Story is mediocre even without all that. Book two? Ummm…?

Wtf happened at ch7 5:50 left. Who is that???? That’s a terrible audio input and you did it twice in a row. That thru off the whole trance of the story.

Better Than Other LitRPG I’ve Read

I don’t usually read the LitRPG anymore, they’re basically all the same and exhausting in their repetitive stat counting sections. This one had a good mix tho, maybe they’re all getting a lil better? I liked the story a lot; it had good action, the kind that I was 5min late for work cause I had to finish a chapter lol. Dislike: Almost all the characters are tools. All so....I like u, u like me, let’s be friends and sing together kind. I’m pretty sure Allistor is a psychopath. He’s disgustingly nice and has perfect pretty boy morals until he doesn’t like someone’s opinion. Then he tells his bear to eat their face off and says “I wish he died slower”. Then he feels ‘remorse’ cause he had to kill someone and justifies it to everyone like he’s trying to convince himself. His justification speeches always sound like lectures about the ‘new rules’ and his system given titles (that he didn’t want, but “oh well”) There’s always a hidden, or direct, threat in them. So he’s perfect in like a fanatical religious nut, make you puke kinda way but then he 180’s and tortures people he doesn’t like, tells his unwanted minions to behave or else, then tells them no taxes and democratic society....later. Make up ur mind much Al? He’s either a very good politician or a tyrannical psychopath...or both. Wait, is there a difference? Anyway, good story and overall read if u can stomach all the ‘Barney’ hugs n stuff. Oh, and why is everyone so prude? Is that like another crazy-persons religion thing? But then they turn around and hook up like swingers (some only a few weeks after spouse/other deaths). The overall character development seems very.....undecided(?), hurried(?), lacking scrutiny(?) I don’t know, something. I couldn’t decide if it was meant for children or adults for most the book. But again, good story and good mix of reading and stat-checking. I wanna play Sky*** again!

Bring back original voice!

The book is not good without original performer. I can’t tell who’s voice is who’s. It’s like a dimensional shift in time. Where are all the characters that I know?!

This book seems like it'll be great and I can't wait to read it on Kindle, but there is way to much information, to quickly, to grasp when I'm an audible listener mostly at work.

Very Enjoyable

These books are relatively simplistic but so very enjoyable. They're perfect for road trips or to fall asleep to at night. I'm not meaning this as a bad thing! They're not the standard excitement stories I've listened to, though they do have a bit, but I've listened to this series a number of times because they're enjoyable and you can still go about your work or going for a long drive without major distractions.
