Historia

But one evening, her fascination takes a chilling turn when she encounters the enigmatic Bone King, the ruler of the dead—a haunting figure who seems to understand her in ways the living never could.

Multi Leveled Thought Provoking Words, Expertly Narrated.
Revisado: 03-07-25
Some books are better then other books. This is one of the better ones.
On its most visible surface, it's a love story. A story about a woman who has choices to make. (Or, does she?) Yes, one of her suitors is a bit unconventional, but to her, that's not really a factor. (Or is it?)
Then, there are the stories that fall beneath the surface, the questions it asks and makes us ponder. Free will? Predetermination? What's next? What was before?
Amanda Cessor has beautifully written a small gem of love and loss, of hope and despair, of mourning and happiness.
What elevates the novella to another level is the narrator, Bonnie Walsh. Her lush voice, her tones and personality give voice to a variety of characters in a most spectacular way. I got lost in her voice and carried away to a new world.
This combination of writer and narrator is special. I, for one, certainly hope they pair up again in future projects.

A book about war for people who don't like war. very expertly narrated.
Revisado: 01-31-25
This is a book about war for people who don't like war. It does not sugarcoat, it does not glorify nor does it condone acts of war.
This book is not a call to arms, it is more of a wake up call, reminding us in grizzly detail, that war, on any level, ought to be resisted.
Conrad Jones writes a realistic tale following the effects of war on one particular family; demonstrating how war, whetherfar away or on the streets of your neighborhood, can touch us all.
Even though the tale sometimes jumps back and forth in time and spans multiple continents, the narrator, Bonnie Walsh, does an outstanding job at the difficult task of giving specific and nuanced voice to the multitude of characters in the book. Her skills were equal to the challenge and certainly deserve special mention.

We live in a world filled with monsters—monsters who perceive themselves as superior to humanity. It's up to me to prove their superiority is misplaced, and I won't stop until they fear my new name—Huntress.

really good story, really great narrator.
Revisado: 11-28-24
The storyline was well thought out and highly entertaining. I enjoyed the character development, and the scenes were exciting.
*Please pay attention to the trigger warnings. This is a story about war, and atrocities are committed.*
The narrator did a phenomenal job of digging into the depths of the story without being overly dramatic. Her pacing, her diction, her ability to convey the 'feelings' of the story we're all first rate. She gets five stars.
