Best audible book I’ve listened to in a while. As a person who likes HWFWM, Azarinth Healer, etc., this was a breath of fresh air while awaiting new books. Definitely worth the credit.

Fluff

This felt different from previous books. It was a lot of fluff and useless details seeming to just make a word count/duration requirement. When the story progressed, it was phenomenal as always. Hopefully the next book has less filler (useless details and continued stat reading).

Stop the haters!

This book was amazing just like the previous. People in the reviews either don’t understand a recap to align timing of significant events, don’t understand how Jason is coming into his powers and his rants showing his growth from a mortal to some being with celestial power, or are not here for the overall transcendence from an adventurer into a forgotten territory. Enjoy the ride. If you only want fight scenes, pick a series with less depth.

The childlike narration ruined it.

I had to push through this audiobook as my schedule this month is not ideal to sit down and read a paper book, and yet, i almost give up several time. When the narrator does the regular voice, it’s okay but when the childlike narration starts, it almost gives me headache every time, and there’s a good bit of this singsong child dialogue.

He never actually delivers on anything in this book. I was disappointed in how he’s pushed but there’s no satisfactory response by Callum like in the first book. Hopefully the third books is better but this one wasn’t it…

There’s a part in this book I just became disgusted. The main character became completely contrary to everything he stood for and made decisions that were just appalling. I stepped away for near a week to get over it and return to the book but I couldn’t. Had to drop the series. Unfortunate it too because I was really enjoying it…

I love the series. The character development was impeccable and the hardships gave me so much respect for the main character. If you’re contemplating, just do it. Well worth it.
