Historia
Behind the tall, foreboding gates of a commune in Brazil, Daniella Mestyanek Young was raised in the religious cult The Children of God, also known as The Family, as the daughter of high-ranking members. Her great-grandmother donated land for one of The Family’s first communes in Texas. Her mother, at thirteen, was forced to marry the leader and served as his secretary for many years. Beholden to The Family’s strict rules, Daniella suffers physical, emotional, and sexual abuse—masked as godly discipline and divine love—and is forbidden from getting a traditional education.

Honorable people choosing truth
Revisado: 02-17-24
I like the way it is in chronological form about his life. He and his wife’s courage to stand up for truth. I like the way it is written in third party.

To the Mormon wives of Utah, I dedicate this audiobook to you, as I consecrate my life to your cause. As long as God gives me life, I shall pray and plead for your deliverance from the worse than Egyptian bondage in which you are held.

Good insight into the character of Brigham Young
Revisado: 03-29-23
Very good insight into how it was to live in Utah in the 1800s. The history of suffering women suppressed in the Mormon church. Some names were mispronounced by the reader but overall a good listen.

Informative and motivating
Revisado: 06-07-06
The information is current and revealing. The author has an amazing technological background and can see the major problems facing the United States. There is a little too much political spin, but for the most part it is accurate. It is a wake up call to America. I think anyone interested in the future of this country should read it.
