Alex Theis humbly and masterfully shares the kind of essential hard-earned knowledge and well-lived experiences anyone backpack wisdom any Timberline Trail backpacker treasures.

Whether you're a novice or seasoned backpacker, the author covers nuanced tips and hacks one needs to successfully brave this often-dangerous trek around Mount Hood.

More than just practical, though, Alex's writing style and pace weave the essential backpacking information together through par excellence storytelling. His descriptions of the terrain and inner-experiences takes me with him into the beauty, and majesty of the experience.

The thing that helped me the most, however, was his humility. It was refreshing. His struggles with the inner-game seem much like mind would be. He generously transforms his many mistakes and emotional struggles along the way into memorable nuggets of golden wisdom. In so going, he helps me best prepare for the hardest part of this (and any) significant undertaking—the realm of the emotional, mindset, and physical fortitude.

One of the best books ever written to better empower business leaders, social influencers, marketing and branding specialists, civil servants, educators, therapists, life coaches, spiritual ministers, or those who want to help others make healthier decisions for their own lives and for society at large.

I, a white man who does not consider himself a racist, now see the social caste dysfunction in America, my America, in a whole new light as a result of this book. It resolves any cognitive dissonance I experience as a white man, who loves and was shaped by African Americans, when contemplating the tension between the many colors of the American social landscape and my white caste perspective. Brilliantly written and well-researched, this book now goes on my short list of must-read works. I will recommend it to anyone with a mind opened enough to draw from its insights.

I read a lot. A lot. Few books, however, were so out of touch or out of date philosophically that I couldn't at least finish the Preface.

Audible's Return Policy will come in handy on this one.

Although careful to speak with diplomatic grace, Carroll pushes through and past the illogical and troublesome and willful resistance of scientists to delve into the foundations of quantum mechanics.

I've read this book many times and will do so many times more.

I ask my colleagues to read in it order to work the book's genius into our business culture and workflow process.

As the father of four, two extroverts and two introverts, Quiet is an invaluable resource for navigating the relational complexities of parenting.

Even though 'How Emotions Are Made' hit the bookshelves only a few months ago (March 2018), this scientific masterpiece already altered the course of humanity; the world simply hasn't begun to feel the full weight of its impact yet. It's so rich it's unsettling. Step aside Socrates, Aristotle, Descartes, Nietzche, Hume, Freud, Darwin, and my all-time favorites William James and Daniel Kahneman. Boys, there's a new sheriff in town and her name is Lisa Feldman Barrett.

This book provides advanced scientific evidence for nearly every book I've read on creating and sustaining organizational growth and health.

Over the last three decades I was charged with the responsibility for creating fast and sustainable organizational growth for startup nonprofits and commercial enterprises which, accumulatively, gathered connected tribes numbering in the millions of people and produced over $7 billion in revenue.

Unfortunately, I had to learn many of this book's principles the hard way. I only wish I had this book as a guide when I started my career. It will be at the top of my recommended reading for any executives in my employ or CEOs whom I coach.

Truly a masterpiece!

Succulent fruit from from carefully-tended garden of business culture and management insight.

Bold. Delicious. Deceptive. World-changing.

Sage advice for any business leader who honors success above ego, peace above complacency, excellence above status quo, and meritocracy over mediocrity.

Don't read it unless you are serious about applying the book's principles as they will forever haunt your failures with a resounding, "I warned you!"
