Historia
The dense Michigan forest. Haunting wails. The clip-clop of demon hooves on a bridge to nowhere. It’s more than a tall tale to Brenda Jennings, whose sister disappeared in those woods one fateful night. Three years later, on a solo stakeout in the dark, Brenda goes in after her. She’s desperate for answers, and terrified to find what lies waiting on the other side of that bridge.

Historia
Tiffany Aching has spent years studying with senior witches, and now she is on her own. As the witch of the Chalk, she performs the bits of witchcraft that aren't sparkly, aren't fun, don't involve any kind of wand, and that people seldom ever hear about: She does the unglamorous work of caring for the needy. But someone - or something - is igniting fear, inculcating dark thoughts and angry murmurs against witches.

WHY!!!???????
Revisado: 01-29-23
I almost stopped listening after the first half hour. My heart was broken. But I figured if Mazi was going to endure… then so could I. The story itself was just ok… but if you are a fan of the series then you know so much of the reason we love it is because of Mazi herself.

Historia
With the country in the grip of economic malaise, and worried about her business, Maisie Dobbs is relieved to accept an apparently straightforward assignment from an old friend to investigate certain matters concerning a potential land purchase. Her inquiries take her to a picturesque village in Kent during the hop-picking season, but beneath its pastoral surface she finds evidence that something is amiss. Mysterious fires erupt in the village with alarming regularity, and a series of petty crimes suggests a darker criminal element at work.

Historia
Maisie Dobbs got her start as a maid in an aristocratic London household when she was thirteen. Her employer, suffragette Lady Rowan Compton, soon became her patron, taking the remarkably bright youngster under her wing. Lady Rowan’s friend, Maurice Blanche, often retained as an investigator by the European elite, recognized Maisie’s intuitive gifts. The outbreak of war changed everything. Ten years after the Armistice, in the spring of 1929, Maisie sets out on her own as a private investigator, one who has learned that coincidences are meaningful, and truth elusive.

What I liked? Every single thing. I even learned… a lot while listening to it.
The narration is so perfect. So incredibly perfect. I looked so forward to cleaning, exercise, the dentist… sitting in traffic. Anything that gave me time to listen to this book.
I would recommend it to anyone. I honestly cannot imagine someone not liking it.
I am so sad that it is over. However, happy to know that I can listen again and again.
“Happy! Happy! Happy!” If you listen, you’ll understand.
I wish I could personally thank Mr. Weir and Mr. Porter.
Give it a listen… you won’t be sorry

Best Stephen King novel ever
Revisado: 07-11-21
I am not usually a fan of Stephen Kings books. (The person I like… books not so much) however after listening to Duma Key I had to reassess. When my mom told me I had to listen to Joyland that is more like Duma than anything else, I tried it. I was hooked from the first word. I love Michael Kelly’s voice and he was the perfect choice. I loved so much about this story…. And I was so engrossed in everything else I didn’t even come close to guessing the mystery. All the thumbs are up for this one.
