In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.

Better than I was expecting.
Revisado: 11-11-23
I’m a big Britney fan. I wasn’t expecting a lot from this book, because I wasn’t really sure how “raw” Britney was actually going to be.
Well I was really surprised. She really went there.
I was also surprised how much Michelle Williams sounds like Britney. I found myself forgetting it wasn’t Britney doing the reading.
If you’re a Britney fan it’s a must-read. Or even just a pop culture nerd, a must read/listen.

Promising start but felt slow.
Revisado: 02-05-23
It is a good and enjoyable listen, but it felt like the story quickly became slow and boring. But by the time I wasn’t sure I cared anymore, I felt compelled to finish for the sake of finishing.
If you like Bridget Jones Diary and those sorts of stories, you’ll probably enjoy this.
If anything, it’s a story any woman over 30 can draw something from. The book is dealing with a lot of issues women face, and I did find this book comforting. We face a lot of pressure, and it’s wonderful to see characters face and tackle those issues.
But beyond those themes, I did find the story a little boring, sadly.

Historia
Martin Short takes you on a rich, hilarious, and occasionally heartbreaking ride through his life and times, from his early years in Toronto as a member of the fabled improvisational troupe Second City to the all-American comic big time of Saturday Night Live and memorable roles in movies such as ¡Three Amigos! and Father of the Bride.

I must say, it's very good.
Revisado: 01-04-15
Where does I Must Say rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was my favourite release of 2014 and it is the best audio book performance I've heard since using Audible. It seemed to blur the lines between "book reading" and performance. With added touches of music, singing and getting to hear his character voices.
Be honest, would you rather read Jiminy Glick quotes, or HEAR Jiminy Glick quotes?!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Martin Short, obviously.
Which scene was your favorite?
It would be hard to pick just one. Although, I really valued the chapters where Martin Short talks about losing his wife Nancy. It was incredibly sad, but I found his perspective on losing loved ones somewhat comforting.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Sadly no. I don't think I am built for listening to anything for 8 hours straight. Dear god, who is?!
Any additional comments?
Skip the paperback, get the audiobook. If you grew up on Martin Short movies, you'll absolutely love this. Now I am craving a Martin Short film binge.
