DNF'd at Chapter 20

I tried to give it a chance, after somewhere around chapter 13 the characters began interacting like 10 year olds with slightly more cursing, the plot was painfully predictable, the antagonist is one dimensional and also weakly done. If you have to rely on the puppy kicking trope to get it across that this character is EVIL you're being lazy. The relationships between the characters are flat, predictable, and juvenile. I'm pi**ed at the person that suggested THIS as a book with strong woman characters. They may be physically strong in the book but their characters are weak.

Secondly; Strong ADULT women should NOT be portrayed as if they were originally written as an edgy teenager. The behavior wasn't "girl boss" or anything of the sort, it was petulant, ignorant, and depicted them as though they didn't have a shred of sense between them.

And finally; the final straw was the constant adherence to "all steel" makeup of blunt weapons down to their haft. There's a reason we use wood and composites for the handles of these tools, they ABSORB shock and protect your hands and the bones in them! Just because a 13 year old with no knowledge of smithing, physics, or anatomy might think it's badass doesn't excuse this. If you are going to make your main character a BLACKSMITH maybe study smithing a bit!

I couldn't force myself to finish this

I, very rarely, run into books that I DNF'd. This one just doesn't do it for me. It's just too obviously written by a guy for straight guys. I love the body positivity and the overall acceptance of physical and age differences, but the style is too focused on the guy and the story just isn't for me. It feels borderline clinical and kinda of sloppy at parts.

Not wholesome slice of life, just juvenile horniness

Dude gets reincarnated in a nearly all women city where every woman is classically attractive by western standards, meets two helpless, naive, oversexed, polyamorous goblin "girls", that just can't do anything without a big, strong, nice guy to show them how their little female brains were just not made for business and tech savvy. The story is what happens when two horny guys try to write something for other horny guys and end up making every female character "breast boobily and titted onwards" with about as much character as a penthouse letters "woman".

Great YA soft SciFi with light horror and romance

I found this book to be an interesting continuation of the previous, the narrator's cadence was initially a bit off-putting but that was my own issue to deal with, the story felt slightly flat like it was too simple at times but the characters are cute and have a modicum of growth. The romance aspect wasn't expected but I am sure YA readers will relate to it. Overall I'd say it's worth a listen. Well done, Amy McFadden.

If you enjoy cyberpunk you'll enjoy this. I would definitely binge this if it were a series.
