Die Vernetzung von Fiktion und tatsächlichen Ereignissen ist gut gelungen. Der Konflikt zwischen Julius und Micha ist realistisch gezeichnet. Die Dreiecksgeschichte zwischen Micha, Sybille und Johanna wurde gut gelöst. Ihre Entwicklung illustriert auch die zunehmende Reife Michas.

Die starke und detailliert ausgearbeitete Protagonistin wirkte überzeugend, die Handlung packend und das Zeitkolorit glaubwürdig. Habe mich beim Lesen gut amüsiert und auch mit Spannung die Entführungsgeschichte der kleinen Schwester verfolgt. Die Böttchers sind eine interessante, wenn auch in Abstufungen sympathische Familie.
