Not what I was expecting
Revisado: 01-17-21
*SPOILER*
I enjoy Nick Podelh as a narrator. Unfortunately this was not what I was expecting. It eems like the author wrote himself into a corner with what is next for the main character, or is not interested in writing more about Ricktor. I enjoyed his exploration of blood magic, but was at a lost for the story overall.
It wasn't the easiest to finish, since there was no mention of this outside entity/entities influence on The Land overall. The last book I was losing interesting since the story seemed more focus on Ricktor growing insanely strong fast, but now with so little focus on the bigger players at work I won't finish the series. That for me was the most interesting part. To me, Ricktor is not a compelling character, and story with just focused on him is boring.

Science fiction allows us to go places we can only dream of seeing - other worlds, distant stars, entirely different galaxies. While not every story is concerned with the hard science behind space travel and other futuristic ventures, fiction can give us amazing insight into what we could be capable of and what we dream of doing. In these 10 lectures, Professor Erin Macdonald interweaves real science and the achievements of the imagination to reveal the truth that underlies our favorite stories and sheds light on what the future may hold.

Revisado: 03-15-20
I don't usually write reviews, but I can't express how much I enjoyed this book, from another woman in STEM and who enjoy SciFi to being able to finally understand abstract concepts that make SciFi great. Thank you Erin MacDonald for this fantastic addition to my knowledge and listen!

the truth behind the original story is disturbing. Rupert Everett performance was wonderful. The true version on Tink was refreshing.

The struggle against not-so-charming storybook narratives isn't the only complicating factor in Henrietta "Henry" Marchen's life. As part of the ATI Management Bureau team protecting the world from fairy tales gone awry, she's juggling her unwanted new status as a Snow White, dealing with a potentially dangerous Pied Piper, and wrangling a most troublesome wicked stepsister - along with a budding relationship with Jeff, her teammate.

Percival Tunstell loves that his sister and her best friend are building themselves a family of misfits aboard their airship, the Spotted Custard. Of course, he'd never admit that he belongs among them. He's always been on the outside - dispassionate, aloof, and hatless. But accidental spies, a trip to Japan, and one smart and beautiful doctor may have him renegotiating his whole philosophy on life.

Great and fun story! Loved eat!
Revisado: 09-13-19
I really like how the author is doing a great job of world building in this story of pulling in some of her side stories. While not imperative to have read/heard the others side stories , especially 'Poison or Protect: A Delightfully Deadly Novella', does show how tightly woven the world is. Also, the epilogue was wondering for staging more questions and future stories! I'm very excited to see if Gail will create more stories focused on where current 'Custard Protocol' characters are going, or do some back story into the other characters from this series and her other series!

Couldn't stop listening
Revisado: 09-03-19
I didn't have to try hard to finish this book. I was hooked with the way the author could paint a picture with the way she described everything. Very enjoyable narration to enhance this wonderful story of the underdog/outcast life story in her struggle to be herself, finding a place for herself in this world, and what love really is.

A lot of fun!
Revisado: 12-20-18
This book was a lot of fun like her previous serious The Parasol Protectorate. Not as much adventure but the author did a wonderful time developing the characters and expanding the story. My only peeve was it seemed the narrator did not listen to Parasol Protectorate series, and messed up Biffy's voice. I was very endeared to that character and to hear his voice off almost turned me off from continuing. I'm glad I finished because it was a wonderful and very entertaining book. I will be continuing the series!
