Too syrupy. Predictable
Revisado: 06-06-24
Over the top. Over dramatic. Only good thing is the recognition of the vets that have never been fully appreciated

Historia
For years, "Fisher King Mike" wandered the streets of LA, preaching to his people. On occasion, he'd share an open mic night with Michael Konik, who befriended the homeless man at a distance and offered a confused but sympathetic ear when the Fisher King lamented having to be so far away from his wife, Selena Gomez, and their several children. As the pair began to cautiously trust one another, confusion and distance gave way to friendship, and what came next astounded them both.

Author makes the astonishing discovery that helping others is a key to true happiness. Unfortunately this same principle is the foundation of many faith based organizations and 12 step groups around the world. He also adopts the citiot belief that sugar and tobacco are toxic while smoking pot which has more carcinogens than tobacco and much more toxic to the liver. Keep trying to reinvent the wheel

Historia
Never is an extraordinary novel, full of heroines and villains, false prophets and elite warriors, jaded politicians and opportunistic revolutionaries. It brims with cautionary wisdom for our times, and delivers a visceral, heart-pounding story that transports listeners to the brink of the unimaginable.

Not his best
Revisado: 06-15-23
All the heroes were female or minorities. All the white men were idiots or evil. Looks like a poor attemp at wikis

Historia
From America's most inventive novelist, Jonathan Lethem, comes this compelling and compulsive riff on the classic detective novel. Lionel Essrog is Brooklyn's very own Human Freakshow, an orphan whose Tourettic impulses drive him to bark, count, and rip apart language in startling and original ways. Together with three veterans of the St. Vincent's Home for Boys, he works for small-time mobster Frank Minna's limo service cum detective agency. Life without Frank, the charismatic King of Brooklyn, would be unimaginable.

Great characters. Unpredictable story. Nice philosophical perspectives. Kept me interested after slightly slow start. Good read

Same story with little new. Characters too perfect. Needs another twist and more realistic girls.
