Historia
So I’ve had a baby. But motherhood isn’t quite how I imagined. I don’t live in a lovely cottage with roses around the door. I don’t know how to get Daisy to sleep. I don’t own a baking tray. And then there’s Daisy’s sh*tbag of a father... When Juliette has a baby, she knows her life isn’t sorted. Not by a long way. And most especially not with Nick, long-term boyfriend and father of her child. Far from living the dream family life, Juliette and Nick rent a city apartment and share a tiny, shiny elevator with executives and their takeaway Thai meals.

Historia
Milly's mother is a serial killer. Though Milly loves her mother, the only way to make her stop is to turn her in to the police. Milly is given a fresh start: a new identity, a home with an affluent foster family, and a spot at an exclusive private school. But Milly has secrets, and life at her new home becomes complicated. As her mother's trial looms, with Milly as the star witness, Milly starts to wonder how much of her is nature, how much of her is nurture, and whether she is doomed to turn out like her mother after all.

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Breathtakingly Beautiful. Perfection.....
Revisado: 07-21-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you would like to be swept away to a quiet reverie of brilliant word use so delicate that your mind places your whole soul in the setting, listen to this book. It's so beautifully and artfully written and narrated- I'm stunned and mourning that I've finished it. I will be purchasing the physical book so that my eyes will feed the visions now that my ears have feasted!
Who was your favorite character and why?
All of them. Every character was an integral part of the others, not one of them could be spared.
Have you listened to any of Zach Appelman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but he is the most phenomenal narrator I've ever heard! I actually thought another one was until I heard Zach, and may listen to a story simply because his voice is telling it.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I travel on a very long 2 hour commute each way to and from work so I listen in my vehicle. It's as if I'm the only one on the road. I cherish the moments by myself with the quietness of these wonderfully written and narrated novels. I purposely choose the longest ones! All the Light We Cannot See presented a challenge however- I could not wait to get back into my car so I cheated and at one point listened at work in my office! But I rewound in the car and listened all over again :o)
Any additional comments?
Thank you Anthony Doerr- please write more and more if you can. You are a blessing to my sensory system!
