Poorest Effort Yet by Scott Turow

Would you try another book from Scott Turow and/or Henry Leyva?

I found the narrator only a C as compared to other narrators. Turow seems to be a hit and miss author and this story got bogged down in minutia and lesbian activity.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Something by Lee Child, Michael Connelly, Vince Flynn, Daniel Silva, but not Scott Turow

What character would you cut from Identical?

Evon Miller. She adds nothing to this story. If Turow wants to write about lesbian relationships he should find another genre than crime stories.

Would you try another book from Philip Roth and/or James Daniels?

I have always viewed Philip Roth as one of the greatest living American authors but Roth must have been on crack cocaine when he wrote this book many years ago. Even the greatest authors sometime write a stinker and this is Roth's. Ouch!

Shame On Silva!

I have come to expect a wonderful book from Daniel Silva; however, this book is a major disappointment. I expect interesting plots well written from this author but this book is awful. Silva should stick with writing in a European or Middle Eastern setting instead of bringing his political biases to writing a trite, uninteresting story set in Washington. Shame on Silva!

The Appeal

Shame on Grisham. This is the first book written by the author I felt was unworthy of reading. I have listened to every book he has written and all were interesting with the exception of this book. His painting business with a broad brush of corruption is just untrue in my opinion. To listen to the author one would think to work for businesses is an unworthy career. He has lost this reader. I have no intention of buying any more of his efforts.

Waste Of A Wonderful Year

The author seemingly did the impossible--he wrote a poor book about the incredible 1975 World Series. His book is full of hyperbole, inaccuracies, and his personal opinion on such items as Johnny Bench's new wife Vicki's tight fitting blouse. He brings in for his own purposes Ricky Henderson who in 1975 was in high school, Dave McNally, who was washed up before he left the Expos and had no impact on the 1975 season, and the length of Sparky Anderson's son's hair. Shame on Adelman.
