Terry's perspective really made me slow down and think about so many of the situations that I have been through or thought that I already knew a lot about.

I enjoyed the book and got a fair bit out of it. All visuals were referred to with no explanation, which is the only reason for my lower rating.

With a bit of effort there could have been some explanation of what is being visualized or at least a number for a visualization that I could go find online. Or at least just a mention in the introduction about where to download a PDF.

Every Christian alive today has to read this

When we say "I am a Christian," we often think it is a statement about what we believe. People were first called Christians because of who they followed, not who they believed in. Their allegiance was to a higher king than any person on earth. They were called Christians by the very people that were killing them for being more devoted to God than to their earthly king.

If you believe Jesus is the son of God, and the Bible is his authoritative word, but you are devoted to following a leader on earth that is influencing you to do things that do not line up with the commands of Jesus, you might believe in Jesus, but you are not a Christian. This book challenged me and gave me a lot of clarity about what it means to be a Christian in a politically charged landscape.

Made Up Theology

Watchman Nee shares a lot of authoritative facts about how the spiritual realm works. 99% of these are not found in the Bible, but he does pick some verses and claim that they support his teachings.

He spends a lot of time teaching about Satan. Jesus also talked about Satan but it is a rare topic in the Bible. In Nee's teachings, Satan is front and center.

I'm fine with people making up their own theology, they just should not call it Christianity and should not try to pick Bible verses to support it.

This book seems like spiritual malpractice.

Author tried to include his narrow political views in several places. He should have focused on writing a better story.

I do not trust Donald Trump to be truthful.

Before the chapter from Trump:

I would have given the book 3 or 4 stars. It seemed to have lots of stories of people who have made it big in real estate and the path they followed to get to that success.

One downside was that it seems like it should have been several books. There are a lot of very specialized real estate strategies included in the book in very different fields. Also some content for beginners thinking of getting started. Before getting started in any specific field of real estate I would have wanted to read a book about just that field in real estate investment. It might make more sense for Kiyosaki to keep an updated and endorsed reading list with all these author's personal books.

After the chapter from Trump:

Starting the book I didn't know there would be a chapter from Trump. I know he has had a lot of success in real estate, and I know that if I learned some of what Trump knows it would make me a more successful real estate investor. The problem is that I have seen Trump consistently lie and distort facts to make himself look better. I do not trust the words he says. As he tells his story, I do not trust the details or the general plot to be true because I have seen him lie on camera so many times.

I didn't know any of the other authors before starting the book. But knowing Kiyosaki's reputation and having read his other books, I trusted the other authors because Kiyosaki told me to. As soon as I started listening to the chapter from Trump and realized that Kiyosaki trusted Trump to write a chapter. I immediately started doubting Kiyosaki's judge of character. I had to wonder. If Trump, a consistent liar, was writing one of the chapters, what kind of people were writing the other chapters I just listened to?

This made me wonder if I wasted my time listening to the first 80% of the book. I didn't finish Trump's chapter and will be asking for a refund.

Would you listen to Rich Dad Poor Dad again? Why?

The principles in here are a solid foundation to build from & dispels so many cultural beliefs that I would need to beat this into my brain again

What did you like best about this story?

He made his point clearly & repeatedly, enough times for me to get it, but not too many times for it to become repetitive

What does Tim Wheeler bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He made it sound like I was listening to the author himself telling me the story (I guess it helps that I don't know what Kiosaki's voice sounds like)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't want to miss one second of it so I would skip back every time my mind wandered or my listening got interrupted

Any additional comments?

I wish I listened to it when I was 16
