Historia
The majority of people invest more time designing a two-week vacation than designing their lives. But without a map, we coast through life feeling lost and directionless. We're already dead - we just haven't made it official. We may be tempted to downplay this trend, but there is a hefty cost. According to Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, "The most damaging thing in the life of a child is the unlived life of the parent."

Figure out your life's purpose
Revisado: 02-26-19
It's the author reading this title and it's so personable! You feel like he's discussing the concepts with you, not just reading them. Some of this material is difficult if you've been told all your life that you'll never amount to anything. However, this book is like a roadmap to get you to your life's purpose so you can start living there.
Well worth the time.

Historia
Not far from Washington, D.C., in a wooded area of Northern Virginia, a small house at the end of a gravel road serves a secret purpose. With its sophisticated security apparatus and hidden miniaturized cameras, it is being used by the FBI to interview one of the most important witnesses the agency has ever had, a young woman with an incredible story to tell. But a few people know about the secret meeting. And for them, a violent drama is about to begin.

Great story.
The reader was a bit breathy for my taste. Every sentence seemed to have a dramatic effect, and not many of them were necessary.

Historia
It's Dr. Kay Scarpetta's birthday, and she's about to head to Miami for a vacation with Benton Wesley, her FBI profiler husband, when she notices seven pennies on a wall behind their Cambridge house. Is this a kids' game? If so, why are all of the coins dated 1981 and so shiny they could be newly minted? Her cellphone rings, and Detective Pete Marino tells her there's been a homicide five minutes away. A high school music teacher has been shot with uncanny precision as he unloaded groceries from his car.

Back to the roots
Revisado: 09-14-15
Scarpetta & Marino are back in their right roles. Lucy is her moody, brilliant self. Benton is the secretive FBI guy.
I hesitated purchasing this book because I didn't like the last two Cornwell offerings. I think she heard the reviews and made some changes back to the old ways.
Scarpetta's descriptions of herself still seem sort of stilted, a bit over the top, but the book is enjoyable, has great Scarpetta twists and ends with a cliffhanger.

Historia
Amos Decker's life changed forever - twice. The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good and left him with an improbable side effect - he can never forget anything.

Good story
Revisado: 06-24-15
Enjoyed the story. Lots of twists. I thought the murderer was someone else almost to the end.
The audio has some issues. In places where there's not a chapter change, the voice of McClarty changes, telling me there's an edit point. The sound mix is slightly different. Not a huge deal, but noticeable.
I like Amos, but I don't like his final take on the cause for the murders in the story. Deflection.

Historia
The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had ran the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

I was worried for Mitch, but he's coming back. Good to see his sense of right is unvanquished.

Historia
A North Korean ICBM crashes into the Sea of Japan. A veteran CIA officer is murdered in Ho Chi Minh City, and a package of forged documents goes missing. The pieces are there, but assembling the puzzle will cost Jack Ryan, Jr., and his fellow Campus agents precious time. Time they don't have.

Well woven.
Revisado: 01-02-15
The story was well-woven and intriguing.
I think that the scenes at the mining operation in DPRK were a bit slim as was Jack's brief moments in Thailand.
Overall, very good. I listened again as soon as I finished the first time.
