But one day she finds the book has hidden depths—and that the story’s handsome prince has somehow stepped from the page into her very own world.

A great idea that was poorly executed
Revisado: 01-26-20
I loved the idea for this story... a reader that fell in love with a book character. A book character that wanted to escape the book and explore a world where endings were unknown. Unfortunately, the best part of this book was the authors note at the beginning. The characters were flat, unbelievable, and not interesting. The story, which had so much potential, disappointed in cliches and character decisions that were unrealistic and out of character. I usually love this author, but I struggled to not put this book down because I kept thinking it would get better and reach some of the potential the overall story had, but it didn't. It wasn't worth listening to and was a disappointment.

An Exquisite Adventure Where You Will Fall in Love
Revisado: 08-13-18
Absolutely breathtaking! A female chemist ahead of her times, a murder mystery, a Lord who wants to be anywhere else but being hunted by marriage-minded ladies, and a missing treasure... this novel will take you on a delightful adventure into romance, royalty, and treason.
Heather Snow delights with characters that are enchanting, funny, and have depth. Many times romance novels can sort of blend together, but Sweet Enemy truly stands out. The heroine is clever, determined, and unlike ladies of her time. The Earl of Stratford is powerful, progressive, and heart throbbingly portrayed. The chemistry between the two sizzles to the point of a brilliant explosion. The underlying plot is well thought out and leaves the reader wondering as to the conclusion throughout the novel. It's a fun, emotionally powerful read that is impossible to put down.
The audiobook, narrated by Kate Marcin, is expertly portrayed. Her voice is soothing and her tone and pace add depth that pulls the reader into her every word. Absolutely a must listen-to novel for anyone who loves a good romance!

So good you'll fall in love!
Revisado: 03-03-18
What did you love best about Loving Lady Dervish?
I loved the characters! The chemistry between Lady Phoebe Anson and Lord Malcolm Gray practically sizzles! The characters have depth and spunk, the dialogue was great, and I couldn't put it down! Phoebe is a genuinely likable heroine with her quirky nature, pure enthusiasm and the joy she displays. Malcolm is her perfect counterpart (and a heart stopping hero!) with his intricate mix of protectiveness, deep emotions, strength and determination.
What other book might you compare Loving Lady Dervish to and why?
Sabrina Jeffries novels. It's an amazing romance, well written and has a plot that will make it impossible to put down.
Which scene was your favorite?
So many!! I loved the initial scene on the ice when Malcolm first sees her spinning and of course one of the final scenes which I can't disclose as I don't want to give away any of this amazing story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Malcolm's reaction to Phoebe's heartbreak near the end of the book. What he did next shows how perfect these two characters are together. If you want to know just what that magical moment was, you'll have to read/listen to the novella!
Any additional comments?
It was so refreshing to enjoy a book where you can grow attached to the characters so quickly and just hang on every turn of the story! I was surprised at how quickly the story enveloped me and how fond I became of the characters in a novella which just speaks to the talent in the writing.
The reading was smooth with the perfect amount of emotion to add even more depth to an already amazing story. The characters seemed to come to life! Definitely a must read or listen-to story!

Deborah Cooke thrills again in this exciting romance! Wyvern's mate is a heart pounding mix of adventure, romance, and action. The hero, Troy, is a mind-bender who is strong, determined, and will melt any readers heart. To escape imprisonment and death, he's sent back to his homeland to complete one task - to slay a dragon princess. After years of hard labor, including completing executions for his ruthless captors, Troy cleverly plans how to earn her trust to ensure he' can complete this last mission and gain his freedom. What he doesn't expect, however, is just how far he will fall for the Dragon Princess. With his life and her life on the line, only one of them will be able to survive.

After her pending wedding doesn't go as planned, her father sends her on a quest to find the seed which will sire his grandson and future heir. Drakina is furious at the errand, but agrees knowing that by completing this lat task for her father she may gain her freedom. What she doesn't know is that completing the errand may cost her her life. It also may cost her her heart.
For lovers of romance, adventure, and science fiction, this book is a must read! A sci-fi passion is a must as the story includes multiple worlds and characters with superhuman powers and who transform shape. Debrorah Cook delivers a gripping story which makes the novel hard to put down. I listened to the audiobook version which was outstanding!

A romance that will take your breath away!
Revisado: 10-07-14
Would you listen to The Beauty Bride again? Why?
The Beauty Bride is one of those rare novels that will stick with you long past the final chapters. The characters are exceptionally well done and I would listen to it again like one would visit a favorite friend. The tales told by Rhys, the hero in the story, are exceptional and I'd want to listen to those again to take away the touching lessons his tales told.
What other book might you compare The Beauty Bride to and why?
For readers who enjoy romance novels and authors like Sabrina Jeffries, Christina Dodd, and Heather Snow, Claire DelaCroix is sure to impress! Her writing is skillful, detailed, and writing in a manner that will capture the readers full attention and pull you into her magnificent tale of love, courage, and adventure.
What about Saskia Maarleveld’s performance did you like?
Saskia Maarleveld excelled throughout the entire novel. Her narration was even flowing, smooth, and easy to listen to. I was especially impressed by her range of voices and the way she captured the dialogue with the right mix of emotion. She added depth to the novel and I would listen to anything she narrates.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This was a book that was almost impossible to pause! The plot is intricately woven and captivating. The characters are so well done that I enjoyed every word, laughing out loud at some of the well written dialogue. I absolutely would have loved to have listened to this all in one sitting. I listen to audiobooks mostly while commuting, and I have to say for once I looked forward to Monday morning just so I could hear the end of this delightful tale.

An exciting edge of your seat murder mystery!
Revisado: 09-30-14
What made the experience of listening to Skeleton's Key the most enjoyable?
The characters are expertly written with depth, realistic flaws and admirable strengths. One can't help but get attached to them and cheer for them throughout the book. Skeleton's Key is cleverly written to keep the reader guessing on who the culprit is to the very end. A perfect mix of history, murder, suspense, & romance, Skeleton's Key made this "Yankee" reader want to pack up my bags & explore the south!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved Dani! She's passionate, clever, loyal, and stubborn with a sweetness that is irresistible. I admire her respect for the south and her good intentions and laughed out loud at some of her "northern" ways.
What does Johanna Fairview bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She adds depth and emotion when narrating that adds to the story. A great story teller helps the reader to experience the story in more detail.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
That's hard to say without giving anything away in the novel! I will say the mystery is incredibly well done. Stacy Green excels at keeping the reader guessing and preventing any of her novels from being predictable. It leaves you on the edge of your seat, unable to stop listening because you just need to know what happens next.
Any additional comments?
When Dani uproots her life after losing her mother to move to a quaint southern town she hopes to be greeted by warm hospitality, sweat tea and exciting finds as she restores the beautiful old plantation home she just purchased. What happens however, throws her in the path of a murderer. When bones are found in the basement of the Ironwood plantation, Dani realizes that the legends of hidden rooms and treasures may not be just stories after all... and the south may not be as welcoming as she thought.
After serving as caretaker to Ironwood for the past year, Cage is blindsided when the historic foundation sells it to a brash Yankee. He's seen too many beautiful southern homes get destroyed and modernized by northerners who think the South is some romanticized scene from Gone with the Wind. How can they ever appreciate the true value in the history of Rosalea?
Skeleton's Key is gripping right from the start. The reader is transported to a beautiful plantation full of mysteries and secrets. It's impossible not to feel the excitement that Dani does when she walks through the old forgotten dust-covered plantation and pictures it as it would have been years earlier… full of life, rich mahogany, and secret passage ways that may conceal antiques of incredible worth. When bodies start turning up, and Cage is a prime suspect, Dani will have to decide if she should run back North or if she should trust him and risk her life by digging deeper into the plantations history.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! The book was very well done and enjoyable. Both the narration and the story were excellent. The plot twists kept the story exciting and kept the reader guessing as to who to trust and who was behind the attempted murder.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Merlyn. He is a devilishly handsome rogue who is not at all what he seems. I loved the depth of his character and the way the author skillfully showed more and more of him to the reader as the story went on. He's a strong hero who is very easy to be both fascinated with and to admire.
Have you listened to any of Ashley Klanac’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not, but I enjoyed this one and would be glad to listen to more.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I was moved by Merlyn's true relationship with his father and his love for Ysabella. Merlyn's side of the story is fascinating!
Any additional comments?
Here is my summary of the story (no spoilers)
Ysabella cannot abide lies. Of all things, she values honesty above all else. When the devilishly handsome man who sweeps her off her feet and marries her turns out to not be who she thinks he his, she'll be forced to make the toughest decision of her young life. In order to maintain her integrity, she'll have to run from a life of fortune, grandeur, and passion with the man she is beginning to love.
Life on her own with her young siblings to care for is challenging. Without being either single or divorced she cannot seek the protection of another man and she cannot get a license to begin business on her own. The ale brewing work is hard labor, but she is determined to do what it takes to provide for her small family. Five long years have gone by when she hears a horse with silver bells approaching in a prance. She would recognize that sound anywhere and both hopes and fears that it brings the rider she most longs to see and simultaneously wishes never to encounter again - her estranged husband Merlyn.
Merlyn's visit to Ysabella is a strange turn of events. Is he angry with her? What does he want? He couldn't have possibly discovered her most closely held secrets, could he? As strange as the initial visit is, what follows after will turn Ysabella's world upside down. After all the pain and lies between them, is there any hope for a future together? With a villain on the loose will Ysabella loose what is most dear to her heart?
With lives on the line and uncertainty on who to trust, this book has a fascinating plot that will keep readers enthralled. The Rogue contains a perfect blend of romance, love, betrayal, and mystery. The story is incredibly detailed with great depth of character and history. It's beautifully written.

Exciting Murder Mystery! Too good to put down!
Revisado: 07-28-14
What made the experience of listening to Tin God the most enjoyable?
The story is outstanding! This is a novel that's impossible to put down. It's gripping right from the start and keeps the reader thinking trying to figure out who the murder is!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Tin God?
I think the revelations about Jaymee's past are intriguing. I can't list too many memorable moments without giving away some of the exciting plot twists in the story, but I can guarantee there are MANY great moments!
Have you listened to any of Johanna Fairview’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't listened to Johanna Fairview before, but I really enjoyed her narration in Tin God. Her delivery was even with a good flow. She has a bit of a husky/southern accent which added character to the dialogue. I found her very easy to listen to and enjoyed the audio version as much as I enjoyed reading this in paperback.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Sometimes a small town can hide big secrets.
Any additional comments?
Sometimes a small town can hide big secrets, and taking on one of their "golden boys" can be a dangerous move. Jaymee, however, is willing to do whatever it takes to find her stolen daughter and Nick is willing to do the same to avenge his wife's murder. When more people start dying and more children are missing, it's up to Jaymee and Nick to solve the mystery or to die trying ...
This book was incredible from start to finish. The characters really blew me away with their depth and vulnerabilities and strengths. The chemistry, the heartache, the mystery, the suspense, and the surprises made this book impossible to put down.
Jaymee Ballard is a young waitress in a small town. Estranged from her family and abusive father, she works hard in the hopes of saving up enough to right some of the past mistakes in her life- including losing her daughter. Her plans fall apart when people she knows start dying and the secrets of her past can no longer be ignored.
Nick Samuels is a reporter that has buried himself in work over the past few years since his wife's death. Overcome with grief and guilt he hasn't been able to move on. When he receives a cryptic note in the mail reading "I just murdered your wife...again" he packs up and heads to Roselea, Mississippi to see what information he can find on the murderer. What he uncovers is a tangle of corruption and lies that goes much deeper than he could have imagined.
Riveting, exciting, with surprising twists, this is a book that will stick with the reader long after the final chapter.
