Sweet, but the ending was rushed
Revisado: 04-04-25
The story was sweet and well written for a couple acts, but then the whole story was just tied up without the care the first part of the story showed. The glib ending was a bummer.

Some good moments
Revisado: 04-04-25
There were some really great moments, but the overall story wasn’t my favourite. I like the two MCs and the premise was interesting, but the pacing was off and the ending was bit of an an eye roll.
The narrator was good when voicing the MCs, but the female voices were laughable and some of the other male characters were pretty cartoonish.

When Hay-on-Wye’s only queer bookshop is threatened with closure, its owner Quinn Oxford is determined to do whatever it takes to save it. That is until romantic novelist Noah Sage arrives. Gorgeous, brooding and clearly unhappy to be there, Noah is the distraction Quinn doesn’t need. Noah has a history with Hay and it’s one he’d rather not face. But when the snow leaves him stranded, he’s left with no choice. Hay is a small town, meaning Quinn can’t help but bump into Noah wherever he goes. And as the two grow closer together, is it possible that Noah’s feelings towards Hay will thaw?

Good writing, convoluted storytelling
Revisado: 04-01-25
This was my first time with this author and I like his writing style quite a lot. I was less positive on the plot and character arcs. I do not like a love triangle and the romance plot was very hard to get behind. The bookshop storyline was drawn out so much it didn’t feel important anymore by the end. Most of the characters were well written, except the antagonist was one dimensional, which made the conflict less interesting.
Narration was good and it was an easy listen while working.
I’ll try another of the authors books in future for sure.

Historia
Max Remus couldn't care less about finding his mate—unlike the rest of his fate-obsessed pack. He totally prefers hanging with his bestie, eating his dad's steak sandwiches, and drawing in his trusty sketchbook. But all that is about to change at the Blue Moon Festival—a summer camp where Elite Pack wolves go to find their mates. The festival is a rite of passage for every teen werewolf, and this year's festival will be one to howl home about. The alpha's son, Jasper Apollo, is attending for the first time.

Nope. Do not waste the credit.
Revisado: 03-03-25
Why was this the worst when it could have been so good? So cliched, so annoying and over the top. The poor narrator was good, but the material couldn’t be overcome with good acting. Honestly ridiculous ending.

How did the narrator not break out laughing with this cheese? The dialogue is cringe and the spicy scenes are funny. Also cliched plots.

Historia
The Alliance is losing. Their most critical weapon, seventeen-year-old witch Nathan Brynn, has killed fifty-two people, and yet he's no closer to ending the tyrannical, abusive rule of the Council of Witches in England. Nor is Nathan any closer to his personal goal: getting revenge on Annalise, the girl he once loved, before she committed an unthinkable crime. There is an amulet, protected by the extremely powerful witch Ledger, which could be the tool Nathan needs to save himself and the Alliance. But the amulet is not so easily acquired.

Pretty slow, but has fun moments
Revisado: 01-30-25
I almost quit halfway through because the pace was really slow. I stayed because I liked Stoker so much. Veronica’s bombastic nature was grating and she was portrayed as clever but couldn’t see what was in front of her. It was annoying to experience the author blatantly writing around obvious details for convenience of plot. There was some good banter and the side characters were interesting.
