Warfare...hell...demons...I'm just trying to drive my kids to school and stay on top of the laundry. What does any of that have to do with me? You've heard plenty of talk about evil. You've heard about binding Satan and breaking strongholds and calling demons by name. You've heard you should claim your victory in Christ...but you're not really sure how to do that. This isn't a book about evil. With passion and strength, Mary DeMuth brings balance and insight to the often murky realm of spiritual warfare

Consider getting the paperback, not the audio
Revisado: 02-21-19
I like this writer's style and I appreciate her history and perspective. There's a lot of truth packed in here! In hindsight, I wish I'd gotten the paperback so I could've had sticky notes and marked up the margins. (Matter of fact, I still might get it.)
As for the performance--I think I'd enjoy the narrator if she were reading on stage. Her pronunciation is super crisp, but it's too choppy for headphones, so I could only listen in snippets. There were several mispronunciations that detracted from an otherwise good book.

Historia
Most of us know we own too much stuff. We feel the weight and burden of our clutter, and we tire of cleaning and managing and organizing. While excess consumption leads to bigger houses, faster cars, fancier technology, and cluttered homes, it never brings happiness. Rather, it results in a desire for more. It redirects our greatest passions to things that can never fulfill, and it distracts us from the very lives we wish we were living. But it doesn't have to be this way.

SUCH a good book!
Revisado: 02-21-19
This is one of my favorite books I've ever gotten from Audible! Josh does a great job on this, and I love that he's not one of those "yeah, I've always been organized so let me tell you how I do it" people - he tells you why he changed and what the process was and the ups and down of changing along with his family.
Now that I've listened through once, I'm going back through to see what changes we can make in our family. Starting with mom. Yeah. Here we go.

Historia
Arnold's first love died in the Cheyenne River. He's sure he's had his one love. To guard his heart, he wants nothing to do with women. No one could ever compare to his Lynellen. He will work hard, be respectful, and never forget. Stephenia is the new teacher in Belle Fourche when she almost meets her maker. Arnold saved her life and maybe her heart. She's avoided relationships her whole life, afraid of the pain of loss. When she finally gives up on him, he has to choose between the love he's lost and the one who found him.

Sweet story!
Revisado: 02-21-19
I really liked this story! I hadn't read the first book, so there were a few references that I felt a little left out on (though, surprise surprise, it makes me want to go get the first one), but for a sweet book with some unpredictable story items, I'm really pleased! The narrator sounds like my favorite uncle, just easy to follow. Definitely recommend this!

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Meh. Can't recommend it.
Revisado: 08-06-18
Well, I really wanted to like this book. I understood quite a few of the 80s references but the rest were too obscure for me. I was hoping this would be a read I could recommend to my boys, but with a number of f-bombs and a section on self-pleasuring (with descriptions of the additional "equipment" you could purchase to enhance your online brothel experience).... Um, no. The moral of "don't lock yourself in the virtual world" is a good one, but if I had my credit back I wouldn't get this book.
Wheaton is a decent reader, but that's all you're getting--the book read to you. He changes cadence for the Japanese characters but other than that every character's inflection is basically the same. Good voice, just no extras.
