Historia
Sam and Clementine have a wonderful, albeit, busy life: they have two little girls, Sam has just started a new dream job, and Clementine, a cellist, is busy preparing for the audition of a lifetime. If there’s anything they can count on, it’s each other. Clementine and Erika are each other’s oldest friends. A single look between them can convey an entire conversation. But theirs is a complicated relationship, so when Erika mentions a last minute invitation to a barbecue with her neighbors, Tiffany and Vid, Clementine and Sam don’t hesitate.

Truly Disappointed
Revisado: 08-31-16
This is the first book I have ever preordered and it was a waste of a credit. The narration was irritating at times, the story was boring and the characters were not likable. The final straw was the interview between narrator and author mutually admiring each others skill.

Tesser, the dragon of life itself, is one of seven: Earth’s primordial draconic guardians, destined to oversee its development and safety. Species rose and fell, and 10,000 years ago...Tesser disappeared. The golden dragon woke up this morning, buried deep beneath the city of Boston, with no idea how he got there, and no idea how humanity grew so fast and learned so much while he was away. He is lost, a fish out of water. Where is the magic? He’s got a lot of catching up to do if he’s going to find his missing sister and stop an incursion of daemons from beyond the Veil.

Fascinating Characters,Wonderful Narration
Revisado: 03-09-16
In the first 10-15 minutes of listening to this book, I had the sinking feeling I wasn't going to enjoy it. But I had received the audio book in exchange for an honest review so I knew I would listen to the whole book even if it took me a month to get through it.
My initial reaction was SO WRONG. The book became so entertaining it only took me 2 days to listen to the audio!! The characters were well developed and the authors description of the settings made you feel like you were there watching the story unfold.
I enjoyed all the characters but the characterization of the seven dragons was extraordinary. The author expounded on the peculiarities, brawn and vulnerabilities of each one transforming them into fascinating characters.
The perspicuous narration added an extra layer to the reading experience. Each character, and dragon, had a distinctive voice that well matched the personality created by the author.
If you are looking for a fantasy that will go beyond the boundaries of reality I recommend you read Tesser.

Excellent Narration in This Young Romance
Revisado: 02-27-16
For those of you who love a romance you will love this one all the way through. Lots of emotionally based decisions in this one!!!!
For those of you who check the emotions and make decisions based on facts and not emotion...... you will enjoy this about three quarters of the way through. Then, you will be going, "There is no way that would happen......."
The story grabs your attention and makes you want to keep reading. But for me, the story becomes unbelievable before it ends.
[{SPOILER ALERT{{You might want to stop reading now if you don't want details of the story]][[[Spoiler begins now]]]......Self-conscious boy changes miraculously because he "finds" himself after spoiled/never-think-before-you-act girl removes his make-up and reveals his scar (which he always keeps covered) but then leaves the house for the first time ever with no make-up so everyone can see the scar--and his real face. This happens after a huge misunderstanding and a whole year passes without them speaking to each other. He finally sees her, she is obviously pregnant but he is not mad at her (she choice to have sex--she was not raped) but he is angry at the boy who took her virginity; he wants the child for his own because adoption is not an option he can endure. (The adoption is the one point I can understand based on his experience.) As usual stupid girl does not pay any consequences for her actions. She cries and someone else picks up the pieces and fixes things. This will be happily ever after as long as self conscious boy can keep being a cheerleader of stupid girl no matter how self-centered and unaware of others feelings she continues to be. All will be well, if he can forgive all wrongs (because she is so stunning and beautiful-this is a repeating theme) so she can swiftly advance to her next disaster.
{{{END SPOILER}}}
Again, excellent narration. I would definitely listen to another book narrated by David Dietz! Pleasing to your ears whether it be male or female character. Nice pace to the reading and great annunciation.
Giving this one 4 stars in spite of the ending as it was well-written, the characters were interesting and the narration was excellent.

Touching Story--Audio
Revisado: 02-26-16
It still astonishes me what self-righteous religious people will do to others who they deem are not as deserving of the favor of God as themselves. This is a remarkable story of a woman who would not become a Catholic. Because of this, and the religious beliefs of those who opposed her, her life was destroyed. She writes this story at the age of 100 in the asylum were she has spent much of her life.
I liked the narrators accent but the recording was a little difficult to hear. I think it is the quality of the recording not the narrator. I found I had to listen to it at a much higher volume than I usually use and at times I had to rewind, put both earphones on and re-listen with no background noise in order to understand everything.

Great idea--a bit lacking
Revisado: 02-26-16
I'm really not sure how to review this book. I will start off by saying I think the movie would be a lot better than the book. I didn't realize the story was created from a screenplay until the authors comments at the end of the book.
I like the idea of the book. But a book needs a lot more depth than a movie and I think that is what's missing. The characters were okay but they weren't developed to the point that they seemed "real". A lot of things about characters in a movie can be "seen" in a setting. The street they live on, the town or city; hundreds of details of life are visible within a characters home and surroundings. These are the things that give a character "life". There needed to be more descriptions of the details of life. For instance, when David found the box containing his fathers medal of honor descriptions of other items in the box could have added depth to Roy's personality. Items would have been staged for filming; items should have been detailed for the reader.

Dystopia with a Different Spin
Revisado: 02-26-16
What is right and what is wrong in a world where all injuries, diseases and illnesses can be "repaired" instantly with biomites? No surgery, no painful recovery and no waiting. Too good to be true??
Every time you utilize biomites to solve a physical problem human tissue is replaced and the biomites that are used continue to multiply within your body. When you have less than 50% human tissue you are "put down".
Politics, religion and science battle against each other as they disagree about the point when the computerization of humanity to cure all ills makes the recipient no longer human.
I wasn't sure I was going to like or finish this when I first started it. It starts off rather strange because it's not the world as we know it. After about 15-20 min of listening to the audio it became interesting because I had a new vocabulary related to the world the characters lived in and understood what was going on.
David Dietz' narration was a positive addition to the book. The only character voice I didn't really like hearing was the little girl. It was, at times, shrill but that was just part of the character. I have listened to Dietz' narrate other books and child voices didn't have that shrill tone.
If you are looking for a dystopia/sci-fi with a little bit different angle you should read Halfskin.

A robot packaged as a department store perfume sales clerk. Female robots who can shoot bullets from their boobs. I also learned that if the boobs are closer together the "fembot" has better accuracy. If that doesn't piqued your interest I don't know what will!!!!!
This was a fast paced, entertaining audio book that I received in exchange for a review.
I enjoyed the story and the narration was perfect. It was a short story but the way it was written I could have easily listened to 6 hours of it.

God, Family and Home Intertwine with Mystery
Revisado: 01-28-16
Interesting characters and a plot with enough twists to keep you guessing!! I enjoyed becoming acquainted with the residents of Buckneck, Virginia. I especially liked the narration of the audio book. Being from the south, I often find narrators southern accents to be laughable. Not so with this book---the accent was served up just right!!! The older ladies accents were thick but it was still believable and is definitely something you will find among the elegant southern lady. It reminded of someone I know!!
If you are looking for a mystery with small town southern hospitality then here's your next read. The story will pull you in from the start. You will be welcomed into the home of the Spencer family where you will be greeted with warmth and cookies fresh from the oven. Tess will take you on a tour of the town as she attempts to keep her friend Miranda safe from danger.
I also liked the double meaning of the title!! An enjoyable read!!!!

Interesting, Engaging Read!!
Revisado: 12-04-15
This audio book turned out to be a bit different than I expected. My expectations of a Civil War based story rapidly turned into a lot of Vampire/Ghost/Thriller. But I enjoyed it!!
I liked the bed and breakfast setting. The author did a tremendous job of fully developing secondary characters that were guest at Willowwind.
Even though, it was definitely outside my preferred genre I found it to be a page turner. It was an interesting and engaging read.
The audio narration was definitely an asset to the reading experience.
