Fantastic!!!

Best book I’ve read in YEARS. I loved the way the first sentences just jump right in….I was immediately intrigued. With the writing, there is enough of the stuff that matters and none of the fluff that doesn’t. Will look for more from this author for sure!

So, so bad.

Started off kind of interesting..then took a ridiculously unbelievable turn. The love triangle twist is absolutely deplorable and does nothing to add to the story except for the shock factor of every protagonist being bi in a clear attempt to distract the reader from a pathetically poor plot. I was on board when the bodyguard turned out to be bi. But then the main character turned out to be bi. Then the best friend turned out to be bi. Come on, seriously? This book is so rife with eye-rolling moments, I’m surprised I can even see to type this review. Again I say, shock factor does not equate to a good story! And I am sorry you were led to believe that. Worst book I’ve listened to in a long while.

Extremely boring and slow

Could not finish….I found my mind wandering because there was just nothing about this story exciting enough to keep my attention.

Lisa Jewell does it again!

I did re-listen to the The Family Upstairs prior to starting to this, so I’m sure that added to the experience…..this was honestly one of the most enjoyable books I’ve listened to this year. I couldn’t put it down.

Strange

Started off pretty engrossing, but somewhere in the middle, it took a bad turn. The story was WILDLY absurd. And after the climax, the characters continued to drone on with these dialogues that added absolutely nothing to the story. Disappointing.

Best book I’ve listened to in awhile….and thankful I found it to get me through a long road trip. I agree that the story is implausible, but who cares? It is fictional….doesn’t make it any less interesting.

Boring

I should have returned it, but hung on since I’d spent the day sick in bed and it was something to listen to. The story was just really boring. Slow and uninteresting.

Teen Fiction

I fell asleep without the sleep timer and the book played to the end and I didn’t even bother to go back to finish it. It is very amateurish….like a bad teen fiction novel. Not enjoyable at all.

I really wanted to like it… I truly did. The story started off promising. But the monologues just droned on and on and on. Was like listening to a whiny woman talk about her feelings. I couldn’t finish it.
