The Disneyland Story: The Unofficial Guide to the Evolution of Walt Disney's Dream is the story of how Walt Disney's greatest creation was conceived, nurtured, and how it grew into a source of joy and inspiration for generations of visitors. Despite his successors' battles with the whims of history and their own doubts and egos, Walt's vision maintained momentum, thrived, and taught future generations how to do it Walt Disney's way.

ranks high in story and narration

I have listened to several Disney bios ,and this one is up there in quality of info, storyt we lying and - thankfully - the narrator was normal sounding (It matters, you know what I mean) Its about the building of Disneyland and that whole fiasco of the first day and so on. I was concerned as always the narrator would destroy it like in so many audiobooks, but the narrator's voice was very good so it was a great read/listen and takes you through post opening day and into the nineties I believe. There's a similar book out there about Disneyland but you could own both and get new info from one that wasn't covered in the other. Again, I kind of research the books pre purchase, so my key thing is this - could I listen to the narrator on a non stop road trip? If yes, I click purchase.

This was a real cool book that gave us the perspective of a person who has early alzheimers and you can read, as she deteriorates page by page, how her thoughts - or speculatively - how her thoughts might be like. Great reader, also.

it was GREAT! I wanted to see how it compared to the Netflix series. Both are great, but the series is more a modernized adaptation.

Walt Disney was a true visionary whose desire for escape, iron determination, and obsessive perfectionism transformed animation from a novelty to an art form, first with Mickey Mouse and then with his feature films–most notably Snow White, Fantasia, and Bambi.

Great book and great reading voice. The life story is comprehensive. A definitive biography on the guy. The reader had a calm "normal" voice as well.

Look I've listened to a lot of audio books and I love these Gone Girl type thrillers or couples that are not who they seem ....and this thing is a masterpiece! Even though it feels like a typical plot at first ...it turns dark and I have to tell you - even the narrator has a good stable voice that doesn't ruin the experience- you know to mean ? Like how a good book can be ruined by a bad reader? Not here. Everything came together really well here. I really enjoyed it and recommend it.

Professional killers with the souls of artists, would-be theater directors turned Kremlin puppet-masters, suicidal supermodels, Hell's Angels who hallucinate themselves as holy warriors, and oligarch revolutionaries: welcome to the glittering, surreal heart of 21st-century Russia. It is a world erupting with new money and new power, changing so fast it breaks all sense of reality, home to a form of dictatorship far subtler than 20th century strains, that is rapidly rising to challenge the West.

Historia
Until recently, historians believed America gave asylum only to key Nazi scientists after World War II, along with some less famous perpetrators who managed to sneak in and who eventually were exposed by Nazi hunters. But the truth is much worse, and has been covered up for decades: the CIA and FBI brought thousands of perpetrators to America as possible assets against their new Cold War enemies.

Great book, compelling stories, great audio perf.
Revisado: 06-29-17
the audio performance thankfully was well done, none of that overly hysterical or robotic stuff, smooth ssiling. The book-well, the stories are things I knew, but each one reads like a little morality play. You dont have to read chapters in order.
