Historia
From 1975 to 1979 Ronald Reagan gave more than 1,000 daily radio broadcasts, the great majority of which he wrote himself. These addresses transform our image of Reagan, and enhance and revise our understanding of the late 1970s - a time when Reagan held no political office, but was nonetheless mapping out a strategy to transform the economy, end the Cold War, and create a vision of America that would propel him to the presidency.

Just fantastic!

I am so happy that these recordings were made. As an adult who was born in 1981, I was too young to care much about politics when Reagan was President, and I am sad that I have no memories of him on television. As a grown man, I have come to love him for his optimism, his patriotism, his kindness toward others, and his ability to inspire the same in people through his wonderful gift for writing and oratory. I love his unceasing commitment to the ideal of an America that offers infinite opportunities for her citizens to build her ever closer toward the fabled "Shining city on a hill." I listen to these recordings frequently, in the car on my way to work, at night before bed, or anytime I feel the need for a spiritual dose of American patriotism; to that end especially, I am grateful we had Ronald Reagan.

Historia
In Part II of First Principles and Natural Law, Professor Hadley Arkes delves further into the classic connection between morality and law. Indeed, this link between the basis of law and the principles that form the groundwork of moral judgment is very much at play in today’s world, as evidenced in everything from Supreme Court decisions to national policy. Drawing upon the works of such influential philosophers as Immanuel Kant, David Hume, and Thomas Reid, Professor Arkes examines such relevant topics as conscientious objection, the justifications for war and interventions abroad, privacy claims, and abortion.

Clear, concise explanations about the basic principles of political philosophy. Listen to the first part of this series first as it builds on previously learned material. Excellent buy. Very enlightening.
