A stunning new approach to how individuals can not only change their lives for the better in the workplace, but also their lives away from the office, including (but not limited to) finding ways to improve one's working relationship with others, one's overall health, outlook on life, and so on. For example, why is it that 95% of all diet attempts fail? Why do New Year's Resolutions last no more than a few days? Why can't people with good intentions seem to make consistent and positive strides in the way they want to improve their careers, financial fitness, physical fitness, and so on?

One of the most important books we can ever read!
Revisado: 08-24-19
Finally! A book that gives is the tools we need to succeed at personal change. Prior to reading this book, I thought the only way to make any improvements is to muster greater will power. But that never works. Change Anything is a book with serious tools that have been studied and proven.

Historia
When a group of publishers and writers hires Wolfe to solve a case of false plagiarism, it's time for the great detective to hit the books. Four unrelated accusers - including a down-and-out hack writer and a lady poet with a penchant for nude sunbathing - have been fleecing best-selling authors, claiming the authors have stolen their work and ingeniously planting evidence to back up their claims.

Not one of Rex Stout's best
Revisado: 07-07-19
Compared with the majority of other Nero Wolfe stories, Plot It Yourself disappoints.
1. Wolfe leaves the house. For reasons he'd never budge on other stories.
2. A large percentage of the detective work is done by Saul Panzer. That's normally okay - I love Saul - but throughout this story, Archie is told to get off the line when Saul phones in his reports. Consequently, we readers/listeners are not allowed to follow along and try to figure things out.
3. Cramer and Stebbens are not invited to the big reveal party. When Wolfe identifies the swindler, he's able to satisfy his clients, so I'm sure he collected his fee. But the swindler is also a there-time murderer who is allowed to walk out. Then the story ends. We never see that Justice is done.

Historia
Traversing a vivid landscape, from sunblasted hills and canyons to the nighttime streets of America's greatest cities, some of Louis L'Amour's most compelling fiction was set in his own time. Here are tales of innocents caught in the schemes of criminals, detectives hunting down truths that hide more lies, gangsters and beauties, private investigators and cops. Here is a world populated by the kinds of people who risk their lives to right a wrong, make a buck, or save a friend.

Only 4 of 33 Stories
Revisado: 01-26-19
Louis L'Amour's collection volume 6 (the crime stores) book contains 33 stories. This audio book contains only 4 of them.
I love the crime stories, so I was hoping for several more (like all of them), and was extremely disappointed to find only four.
These four are great stories and Stephen Mendel's reading is excellent. What is here is well done.
Just wish there were 29 more of them from the original book.

With his usual incisiveness, Os Guinness goes past your superficial understanding to the very heart of what calling means. Far bigger than you job, deeper than your personal accomplishments, higher that you wildest ideas of self-fulfillment, calling addresses the very essence of your existence.

Great Content - But Very Abridged
Revisado: 09-09-17
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Call?
I have the physical book as well as the Audible book. The abridged Audible book is not a condensed version of the book. It is a series of speeches with the same title that address the same topic, but only loosely in the same way as the physical book. That was a disappointment to me, but once I got past that, the Audible version was still excellent.
What about Os Guinness’s performance did you like?
I always love listening to Os Guinness. He's warm, engaging, and someone I'd love to talk with over coffee. I'd be taking lots of notes, though, because he is always a source of great wisdom.
