The men in this novel, with a few exceptions are portrayed as as victimizers, self-serving, and even dangerous. Of course, it is a feminist revenge novel. But, it is not boring. It did hold my attention. The action does jump around in time, leaving me somewhat confused. In fact, I'm not totally sure that a timeline of this novel would actually make sense. Clearly it is not my favorite. If you are considering reading this book, give it a try.

This is a historical story of ordinary travelers and ordinary crews of two ships who suddenly had to face a tragic event. Most of us know about the sinking of the Titanic, but this views the event as experienced by those who went through it. There are even mobs of news people and an investigation by several senators. In 1912! A little bit was even included about the Unsinkable Molly Brown. I really liked this one.

This is a great short read! It was very humorous; in fact, I laughed out loud many times. If you are looking for some relief from all the chaos out there these days, try this one.

Everyday language of the characters was filled with four letter words. It wore me down. I decided to stop reading it. Otherwise, the book was well-written. Avoid this one if swear words wear you down.

The story is set in the future. It seems to be written this way so that many technical terms for gadgets can be thrown in. The investigation centers around boards to help put things together and that is pretty realistic. But,, somehow it didn't make sense. Constant talk about who new who, who had military experience, and who visited who. In the story, they got search warrants and I have no idea what the basis was. They probably would be rejected; although, maybe not in today's climate. I finally stopped reading the book (not soon enough). Skip this one!

I really love this book. I still nave a few chapters to read, but I know this will not disappoint at the end. This book weaves the characters (which include George Westinghouse, Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, and lawyer Paul Watched), and major events of science, industry, and law into a fascinating story. This really is one of those books that is hard to put down. I usually permanently delete books from my library, because I rarely read a book more than one time. But I will read this one again. I Can't exactly put this one in Mysteries and Thrillers, but I am so glad it was there! Otherwise, I might have missed it. If you like suspense in a novel, you will definitely find it here. One of my all-time favorites. Thank you, Graham Moore. Wonderful book!

This book contains some detailed descriptions of terrible violence. And, it seems as though almost everyone in the area of this story totally lack compassion and understanding. Two sisters have experienced a terrible act of violence to their mother and themselves that would have a tremendous impact on the rest of their lives, If the story were told in the first person, this might be a view of how her view of the world was impacted by a terrible crime.
Whatever the aim of this story, it is a very difficult read. Probably not a good read, if you don't handle this type of book very well. Definitely not for anyone suffering from depression.
I have only finished about half and I will stop reading.

I haven't even finished yet and I have used some of the information. If you want to begin a new habit or stop an old habit, look no further. The book is short and concise. The subject matter is very clear an easily understood. The author tells where to go for downloads, but I wish there was a PDF download with Audible. That is the only problem I have encountered so far. I think you will need the downloads. As a low vision user, the easier the process is, the better for me. I seldom do a review; so, you know I highly recommend this one.

What disappointed you about A Mind at Home with Itself?

It was uninteresting and did not make sense to me. I am not even going to finish it. I will definitely give more thought to future purchases.

Has A Mind at Home with Itself turned you off from other books in this genre?

Maybe. I cannot be sure.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed reading Loving What Is. I even found it personally valuable. But this one, I will return.
