As this book was marketed as an adult novel, I found the reading level quite low. This is a coming of age story for maybe a 14 year old. I did not enjoy this book and would not recommend it.

I do not usually like this subject matter, it leaves me disturbed. However, this book was well written. It gave me a peek into the impact slavery had on both the slaves and the ones who enslaved them, there are no winners.

I adored the style in which this story was told. The story was told by a series of letters, reading each letter was like opening a little gift. The characters were very distinct and their personalities came out in the writing style of their letters. I couldn't wait for the next letter!

Wittty Main Character!

What did you love best about The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden?
I love Jonas Jonasson's writing style. The main character is a blast, you never know what she will come up with next. The characters in this novel find themselves in some really crazy situations and how they manage to make it to the next fiasco leaves you laughing. I Loved It!
What about Peter Kenny’s performance did you like?
An audible book is so dependent upon the narrator's ability to capture each characters personality. Peter Kenny was able to capture the unique qualities of each character.

Best Story Ever!

This story is fresh and took me on an amazing mental journey. I want to be Alan when I grow up. The main character is so unique and the humor totally different from American novels, I actually laughed out loud and hit rewind, so that I could laugh again. A must read!
