Good

I like this author, narrator, and the world/story overall, which is on the darker side. The MC does not click with me though (typical male stereotypes, dumb/lucky, and makes questionable decisions while missing key details). Will read the next to see how it progresses, but not super optimistic. I’ve started just shaking my head at the MC and loosing empathy/endearment.

The Twilight Ascent is coming to a boil. The Eveningtide Asura's plans are nearing fruition, while powerful factions try to block his ascent. The survival of Twilight Harbor and its citizens depends on who's victorious. Zac finds himself tied to the asura's chariot, but that's only one of his problems. Uona Noz'Valadir has stolen the Splinter of Oblivion, leaving Zac with a ticking time bomb of Creation in his body. A trap has been set within the City of Ancients, but Zac has no choice but to enter the belly of the beast.

Filler and more of the same, but still enjoy the series and looking forward to next book. Would appreciate a character name list and warning before change in perspective though story is great.

Enjoyed the effects

Typically dislike sound effects in audiobooks. However thoroughly enjoyed them here and really added to the audio experience. Story was also good for the sequel though had to re-read all the history from first book to catch up on the mythos.
