Historia
When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity. Cloning, feel-good drugs, anti-aging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media: has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller's genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 A.F. (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

Historia
Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment is universally regarded as one of literature's finest achievements, as the great Russian novelist explores the inner workings of a troubled intellectual. Raskolnikov, a nihilistic young man in the midst of a spiritual crisis, makes the fateful decision to murder a cruel pawnbroker, justifying his actions by relying on science and reason, and creating his own morality system. Dehumanized yet sympathetic, exhausted yet hopeful, Raskolnikov represents the best and worst elements of modern intellectualism. The aftermath of his crime and Petrovich's murder investigation result in an utterly compelling, truly unforgettable cat-and-mouse game. This stunning dramatization of Dostoevsky's magnum opus brings the slums of St. Petersburg and the demons of Raskolnikov's tortured mind vividly to life.

Great book, and formidable narration
Revisado: 01-11-15
What did you love best about Crime and Punishment (Recorded Books Edition)?
Dostoyevsky does a great job. Showing the drama of the soul that has committed a murder and how he can only find peace in the suffering for love. The author moves from analytical material and psychological portray to the spiritual underlying conflict for the salvation. George Guidall make a great job, patient and skillfully builds every character and captures in his voices, moods and atmospheres. I strongly recommend this audiobook.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Marmeladov was specially apealling to me. His part in the second chapter is one the greatest presentations of the mysteries of the way the Lord apply his merci in order to save those awfully lost poor souls. Marmeladov is the modern Good Robber, that beside Jesus, finds the heaven for admitting his misery. The entire book, is full of characters but Marmeladov stroke my fancy!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. I prefer the original and long versions.

A must-read for anyone !
Revisado: 12-11-14
Where does Disinformation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Among the very best. As a Historian deeply interested in modern history and the fascism, this books comes as spyglass, unveiling essential facts for the compression of all the distortion of truth we have been submitted. This book is a must-read for any American, Western citizen, and patriot. Learn how schorlars and teachers have been lying to us all the time.
Any additional comments?
The narration is fantastic, very sober. The citations are properly dramatized, Corey Snow manages to perform Russian-like, Romanian-like english accents. A very professional narration. I strongly recommend this to anyone.

A testimonial of a humble mistycal life.
Revisado: 12-09-14
What made the experience of listening to The Autobiography of Saint Therese of Lisieux the most enjoyable?
As a Christian mostly atracted by the doctor of the church, reading this book is a entirely new experience. I could say that I have read a book such as a diary of love letters. St. Therese is immerse in love for Jesus. And I am glad to have this, for I take her example and will meditate how her love for Jesus may guide mine for Him. I strongly recommend this book, for we all fools in need of learning from the most humble lovers of the Lord.
What about Sherry Kennedy Brownrigg’s performance did you like?
Pleasant, soft, passionate narration. I love her voice. Could merry her only for the sweetness of her performance. I am glad for her contribution.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Made me meditate in the mystery of loving Jesus in another perspective.
Any additional comments?
If you are a Crhirstian, specially a catholic, read it and try hardly to learn from this saint's life.

Formidable, great narration.
Revisado: 12-06-14
What did you love best about How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization?
The book is well organized and full of information about the plenty of contributions of the Church to the Western Civilization. It's a nice first step into this forbidden hall of history that has been hidden from students all over the world. As a historian and a Christian, I strongly recommend this book. Thomas E. Woods has made a great benefit in writing this book.
What about Barrett Whitener’s performance did you like?
His doesn't lose his balance. The man is a great professional. Narrating an academic book might be very hard. There's is little variation of characters, almost none. Barrett Whitnener has made it sound as continuous conversation with a professor, as I were engaged in a lesson with professor Woods himself. Great job.

The enigmatic Stavrogin dominates the novel. His magnetic personality influences his tutor, the liberal intellectual poseur Stepan Verhovensky, and the teacher’s revolutionary son Pyotr, as well as other radicals.

Great book, Very good narration, but little sloopy
Revisado: 06-29-14
Where does The Possessed rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The book is amazing. Complex, realistic and requires much reflection. I read it while listening. Patrick Cullen improves during his narration. The narration is largely good, and with some amendments. This narration includes the censored last chapter. If you expect too much drama from the narration, you may prefer another. But I feel very satisfied with it, provided it's a long book and the narrator made it very well to keep me reading this. This is a complex task to narrated this novel and Patrick Cullen made a good job. The version is the unabridged translation from Constace Garnett, a lovely one, especially for those interested in a more original version of Dostoevsky's works.
