This was my first Anya J Cosgrove novel and after reading it, I know it won't be my last. This book was so good. It's a great way to kick off a brand new series.

Penelope (Nell) is forced to live in the land of Faerie when her father makes a secret deal with the Shadow King Damian. Her time is torn between two worlds in an effort to fulfill the details of their bet. Only she's not allowed to know exactly what that entails. She must learn to use her magic while navigating a drastically different world than where she comes from.

So many secrets and mysteries surround every element of the shadow court and the fae world as a whole. She must work her way up through training, learning about facing nightmares, dreams, and fantasies. Nell is torn between the world of the shadow court and the world where her sister still remains.

She grows closer to the other mortals with magic training in the fae world. That's especially true for the dark knight One and his brothers. But she still struggles with what exactly the king wants with her and when things will take a turn. The action, detail, and chemistry was perfect.

This book was amazing. I absolutely loved it. The world building was so good with lots of twists and turns and well thought out facets. So much that I did not even see coming. I'm so excited to see where this series goes with the next book. I can't wait.

AUDIOBOOK UPDATE: This was a re-read for me and I fell in love with this world all over again. The narrators did such a good job. Literally the only thing that could have made it even better would be if it was done in duet because that's my favorite way to listen. But they did great with the dual style. Of course the voice of Anthony Palmini for Damian was perfect. And the soft British accent from Lilly Drake was exactly what was needed for Nell. Loved it!

Ty has been one of my favorite characters in this series from the very beginning, so I was super excited to learn more of his backstory. And Brandy did not disappoint. Ty and Rena’s journey just made me fall even more in love with this series and this amazing world Brandy is creating.

As one of the top officials in KORT, Ty leads a dangerous life. That is just one of the excuses he makes for keeping his distance from Rena. It’s clear to everyone in his found family that he has feelings for the young Noire princess. But his tortured past is another reason he doesn’t want to make a move and bring Rena into his dark world.

Rena has had a major crush on Ty for years and has been secretly hoping he will one day finally make his move. After a moment of vulnerability from Ty, she starts to wonder if the attraction is not one sided after all. But when she discovers secrets that rock her foundations, she makes a run for it to get some space.

Ty is desperate to find Rena and keep her safe. When she drops some clues he’s ready to chase her no matter what. The danger in their interconnected worlds can no longer be avoided and decisions have to be made fast. Those decisions set things in motion that can’t be stopped. It’s a fight to prove themselves and a fight to stay alive.

Every time I think I know who my favorite couple in this series is Brandy throws me for a loop. So I’m refusing to choose. I loved Ty and Rena’s story so much. They fought their attraction for so long and deserved to be happy and heal. That’s exactly what they do for each other in their own special ways. I love this whole found family and their crazy, fun, and slightly twisted but fiercely loyal and protective dynamic. I just want more and more.

AUDIOBOOK UPDATE: This was another great addition to The KORT collection. I love how well these narrators brought Ty and Rena's story to life. And the duet style narration is so good. Oh I love this series so much!! The audio just brings a whole new element to this world that just enhances how great it is.

Book two in this series picks up right where we left off. Everyone is trying to adjust and find their new normal after everything happened Under the Mountain with Amarantha. Our dear Feyre is most definitely dealing with some PTSD. She's struggling with nightmares and flashbacks of what all she was forced to face and do in order to save the lives of the fae.

Feyre is losing herself while her wedding and life with Tamlin is being planned around her. On the day of the ceremony Rhysand appears and takes her away to uphold the bargain they made. She is torn between two different courts, the politics, and the men who rule them, each with their own agendas.

As time goes on she learns more about this fae world that is now her home. The effects of what happened Under the Mountain to save her are starting to make themselves known. She's no longer the simple human girl she once was. Now she has the form and abilities of the High Fae. She must learn to adapt and figure out how to use her newfound powers.

Feyre discovers more about the history of those in this found family she's become a part of. They must work together to fight against those who seek power regardless of what it means for the innocent fae of their world. Their journey is not easy and they face not only danger but doubt and betrayal.

I don't want to give too much away but I will say the spice definitely steps up a few notches. And be prepared for several surprising twists and turns and maybe a few tears as well. I'm absolutely hooked on this series and can't wait to dive into the next book.

The ACOTAR series continues with Nesta and Cassian's story. When I started this series no one could have convinced me that I'd be a Nesta fan at some point. But it happened. Even before this book if I'm being honest. This one just solidified it.

The family pretty much holds an intervention to do whatever it takes to help Nesta get her act together. They are all tired of her attitude and wasteful spending and more. So they all decide to send her off with Cassian to train and to help in the library in the hope that something will help. She hates the idea of course but goes along with it.

Throughout the process she starts to work through some of her issues and past traumas. We get to see more of who Nesta really is. She finds her own type of strength and powers along with friends and a deeper connection with Cassian. Let's not forget more magic, danger, loyalty, betrayal, love, and family.

I really loved this book. My only complaint was that it made the switch to third person from first person pov.

To say I loved this book would really be an understatement. It was so great! If this is how this new Celestials of Arcadia series is starting out then I know we’re in for something special. This enemies to lovers slow burn has everything you could possibly want in your next romantasy read.

Gray is put through so much her entire life and has it so rough even though she is the Kinetic princess. She’s trained to be an assassin for the kingdom with the main goal of taking down her mortal enemy, Elemental Prince Griffin. But these are definitely not what you would typically think of when it comes to fantasy royalty. They are intense powerful forces not to be underestimated.

I’m not going to spoil things for you because I want you on the edge of your seat as much as I was. This book is action packed, romantic, intense, full of secrets and revelations, fantastic characters, amazing world building, heart warming and heart breaking. I swooned, laughed, cried, and felt all the things. I can’t wait to read anything and everything from this world. I still can’t believe this is a debut novel. It’s just that great.

AUDIOBOOK UPDATE: Even though I wish pretty much all audiobooks where in duet style (because that's my favorite), the dual narration on this one was really good. The narrators really brought personality to the different characters that just enhanced a book I already loved so much. And they really brought out the humorous moments mixed in with all the seriousness of the drama in this world. So good!

Kayce is a curvy college student looking to make some money as a cam girl. And that's where she meets Graves. From the moment they meet on screen he's obsessed. But the attraction is definitely not one-sided over time as they continue to meet up and share their dark desires from a presumed distance. He's all too happy to stand up and protect Kayce when needed. Now Graves is ready to make her his while also fulling Kayce's dark fantasies. And just because that involves some action in a creepy cemetery does not mean he isn't up for the challenge.

AUDIOBOOK SPECIFIC: Hmmm... how can I put this? If you're here for all that steam and spice then... I have a feeling you won't be disappointed by the very passionately enthusiastic narration for this one. Well done, sir. Well done.

Feyre, Rhysand, along with their friends and family are readjusting to life after the epic battles from the last book. Everyone is trying to recover and deal with how things are now. While they rebuild and repair they're also preparing for and celebrating the Winter Solice.

Feyre is learning about her new family's years-long traditions. She's also figuring out where to go from here as the High Lady. So many changes going on. And so many different peeks into the lives of everyone after the chaos of their recent events.

I liked seeing the additional POVs we got with this book. I just wish those other parts would have stuck with the first person perspective like Feyre and Rhysand's chapters.

Feyre is back in the Spring Court playing a part while also acting as a spy. She's gathering intel on the king's plans and figuring out who and what to trust.

Battles, challenges, deceit, and betrayal are everywhere. But through it all there's also love, family, loyalty, and strength. Feyre and Rhysand have to decide who can be trusted to fight with them for what's right. The relationships between Feyre and her new found family along with relationships with her sisters and those around them are growing and evolving.

There's so much more to these characters and this world. Everything continues to build on it all. You get so connected to these characters for sure. So much happens in this book. It is intense. This series just keeps getting better and better. This journey takes you on a roller coaster of nonstop action and emotion. It was so good. I'm ready for the next one.
