Jonathan Davis does a remarkable job reading the story in the laconic, detached tone it is written in, which serves to really emphasize the themes of the story.

Good story, not very good narrator

It can be a bit jarring when the narrator pronounces an otherwise innocuous word incredibly differently than the American English pronunciation that I'm used to. Beyond that, this is a great recording of a great story.

Literally Perfect

I can think of no better voice to give the nameless surveyor recounting a terrible story he was told. An often overlooked aspect of Lovecraft's writing is how beautifully poetic his descriptions of terrible madness are. This recording brings that out. It's just perfect.
