Therapist (with ADHD) approved!!
Revisado: 05-21-23
Oh man! I can't say enough good things about this book! I am a relational therapist (who also happens to have ADHD) and, although my modality isn't super niche on ADHD specifically, I do end up working with a lot of folks that have ADHD and suffer from loads of shame in their relationships. I absolutely love this book and have passed it onto many clients and colleagues since I devoured the whole book this week. This is what I told them:
For all of you with ADHDers in your life, I could not more highly recommend this short, compassion-filled book. It's written and read by the sweetest British couple, the wife having ADHD and the husband being more neurotypical. They also have great/funny content on YouTube/TikTok. It's a super validating book (as well as their video channels), as someone diagnosed in adulthood, and is super helpful for figuring out ways to support ADHDers, AND for ADHDers to own their impact on their loved ones, without folding into shame. It's about learning to accept ADHD struggles with kindness and to collaborate together on how to accommodate the impairments and celebrate the beauty/super powers of an ADHD mind. Enjoy!

Historia
Retirement does not agree with former lieutenant Thomas Mullin. So when he receives a whiskey-stained letter detailing the disappearance of his friend's daughter Abby, he jumps on the first train to Arizona. Folks around town think Abby has gone back to the reservation where she was raised, yet the more Mullin investigates, the more suspicious he becomes. But even his agile mind and gift for deduction can't prepare him for the wild legends of the Papagos or the terrifying truth of what's really in store for Abby.

Great Story, AMAZING Narration!
Revisado: 08-07-12
Would you listen to Kitt Peak again? Why?
Yes! Loved the story with a strong African American character!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Kitt Peak?
I loved all the references to the main character, Thomas, enjoying Sherlock Holmes and sharing a similar gift of deduction.
Have you listened to any of Jay Ward’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have heard other performances by Jay Ward and this is yet another of his amazing performances. Someone once said of him that his voice sounds like honey being poured over gravel and I couldn't agree more. This especially comes out in his narration of the main character, Thomas. Man that was a cool voice! And I am thoroughly impressed with the range of voices he accomplishes in this book as well. I am definitely a big Jay Ward fan! :)
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
A man with Thomas Mullin's skills doesn't retire easily.
