Historia
Critical race theory is a hot-button topic that is having a huge impact on society. However, many people seem to have a misconception on what it is and what it is about. This audiobook introduces critical race theory in an easy-to-understand manner, covering many important areas such as: the history of Black Americans, racism, and why critical race theory came about; how the civil-rights movement failed to bring about equality; the tenets of critical race theory; and much more.

CRT?
Revisado: 03-16-22
I have taught and published on CRT for a while. While I generally support CRT, I recognize there are some valid criticisms and limitations (as many in CRT recognize). There also are may variations of CRT making it difficult to generalize about It. I get there are people that would give a low rating because this book is on CRT without even necessarily listening to it. There are others who would rate it low because it lists some criticisms of CRT. This is a sad reality making it difficult to ascertain the meaning of ratings.
It seems Wagner is trying to be objective and present both sides. This book does not succeed in accomplishing this. The voice of the book is not clear making it difficult to differentiate the authors voice from general supporter or opponents. Maybe this was intended to allow readers to make up their own mind. If so, it doesn’t succeed. Instead, it makes it confusing. For example, there are things said about CRT that are not accurate. It is not clear if this is the author’s voice and the author doesn’t understand or if it is intended to represent other people’s voices. As what is stated in this voice often contradicts itself, this makes the book unclear.
Production wise, there are a few audio glitches as well as some confusing pauses and slow spots that can change the clarity.

Amazing!
Revisado: 08-07-21
My only disappointment was that it was over so quick! I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was wonderful to hear Gidden’s story and wisdom. She shared honestly and humbly about how many life events shaped her music career and outlook. Giddens is an extremely important contemporary voice and I appreciate audibles creating space for her to tell her story. The versions of songs performed on this was incredible, too.
