Historia
Do lobsters feel pain? Did Franz Kafka have a funny bone? What is John Updike's deal, anyway? And what happens when adult video starlets meet their fans in person? David Foster Wallace answers these questions and more in essays that are also enthralling narrative adventures.

Didn't like the coarse language that added nothing to the essays I listened to and was a turn off for me personally. Too little time to listen or read something that I believed started out so poorly. A waste of my Audible credit for the month.

Historia
Do you long for an intimate relationship with your Creator, but He seems elusive? Perhaps it is because something utterly essential is missing—the fear of the Lord. Don’t let this frighten you. Fearing God is very different than being afraid of God. It’s the key to everything.

The Fear that brings Joy
Revisado: 07-27-23
This audiobook is has been the best, most engaging audiobook I have listened to. The fear of God has taken newer and deeper importance for my life and will bring a dramatic shift in our lives and future if we pay attention and put into practice the clearly revealed Word as revealed in John Bevere's book and the Holy Spirit speKing through him.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Kudos for the Midnight Library
Revisado: 01-07-22
The Midnight Library is my first novel read for 2022. Following Nora's journey through her near death experience after attempting to end her life, is an illuminating, frustrating, yet fantastically realized window into what living is all about. I will be surprised if this this is not not only my favorite read of the year, but also on my lifetime top 10 list. Anyone who is caught up in depression, life quandaries, or regrets would do well to listen to this book on audio if you lack the energy to read a novel length book. Matt Haig, is building a new and better
library starting with this book.

Historia
In E. B. White on Dogs, his granddaughter and manager of his literary estate, Martha White, has compiled the best and funniest of her grandfather's essays, poems, and letters depicting over a dozen of his various canine companions. Included here are favorite essays such as "Two Letters, Both Open", "Bedfellows", and many others, as well as some of White's little-known notes and comment pieces covering dog shows, sled dog races, and the trials and tribulations of city canines.

E.B. White's letters that mention dogs
Revisado: 01-06-22
These letters, as read by their author were a very different experience from reading E B. White's children's books. The writer's dogs were often minor mentions in the letter being read and the focus of the letter was an account or opinion regarding totally different theme. The writings show the author's narrative prowess and his intelligence and dry wit, a sardonic humor and affinity for a constant canine companion. Some dogs seemed to be brief asides while a few are much more enduring. It was more memoir than dog stories. I might have enjoyed the book more if I read it, rather than listened to the recorded book.
