This book may be helpful to some, but may stir feelings a grieving parent doesn’t have. I recommend consider where you are in your journey before reading.

Historia
Leaving the rash life of his youth behind, he returned to Skye, seeking peace. He never meant to split the clan, or start a war with the MacDonald of Duntulm. He certainly never foresaw an arranged marriage to the most scandalous woman in Scotland. Even though she was twice his age, the size of a horse, and mother to more than one illegitimate child, he agreed to secure his sister's freedom. However, even that plan goes drastically awry. On his wedding day, he finds himself faced instead, with an enticing, green-eyed lass named Bree.

Just okay
Revisado: 01-23-23
I wish I would have sampled before purchasing. The narrator pauses too much. Even on 1.2 speed, it’s slow.
The story is a little boring.

Historia
There’s no place like home, especially if it’s Serenity, South Carolina. For Annie Sullivan, though, the homecoming is bittersweet. She’d always envisioned a life there with her childhood best friend, Tyler Townsend. But Ty’s betrayal has cost her the family and the future they’d once planned. For Ty, losing Annie was heartbreaking. Still, he can’t imagine life without the three-year-old son whose mother left him for Ty to raise. Ty wants it all - Annie, his child, and the future he’d dreamed about - and he’s back home in Serenity to fight for it.

When is this set??
Revisado: 01-27-22
The story was sufficient, although I was bummed about Ty’s storyline. The southern accents sounded like southern belles out of the Civil War era, and were only used for the older female characters. If you can tolerate the bad accents, it’s a decent listen.

Ugh!
Revisado: 01-23-22
Narration was painful! Annunciation and accent was all wrong, like listening to a preschooler learning to read. I flogged on as I want to listen to the series. Sheryl Woods should consider a reread on this one.

Historia
Eight-year-old orphan Beth Harmon is quiet, sullen, and by all appearances unremarkable. That is, until she plays her first game of chess. Her senses grow sharper, her thinking clearer, and for the first time in her life she feels herself fully in control. By the age of 16, she's competing for the US Open championship. But as Beth hones her skills on the professional circuit, the stakes get higher, her isolation grows more frightening, and the thought of escape becomes all the more tempting.

Great book, boring narration
Revisado: 01-09-21
It is easier to listen at 1.1 speed, but narrator is hard to listen to. This is a great story though, with several life lessons.
