Historia
Queen Elizabeth II’s death ruptured the already-fractured foundations of the House of Windsor—and dismantled the protective shield around it. With an institution long plagued by antiquated ideas around race, class and money, the monarchy and those who prop it up are now exposed and at odds with a rapidly modernizing world.

Heavy sigh - boring and repetitive
Revisado: 12-05-23
I hesitated to purchase “Endgames” fearing it would be a smear campaign against the Royal family and portray the Sussexes as totally innocent and wronged in every situation. Alas, it was as I feared. I almost returned the book half way through, but decided to power on. It was truly boring and totally biased against every member of the Royal family save the Sussexes. I question many excepts that talk about details; how could the author possibly know, let alone confirm these details? In my opinion this was a wasted credit, I don’t recommend this book.

Historia
Few books have had such an impact as Wild Swans: a popular best seller and a critically acclaimed history of China that opened up the country to the world. Through the story of three generations of women in her own family - the grandmother given to the warlord as a concubine, the Communist mother, and the daughter herself - Jung Chang reveals the epic history of China's twentieth century. Breathtaking in its scope, unforgettable in its descriptions, this is a masterpiece that is extraordinary in every way.

Pretty interesting
Revisado: 03-01-23
Not bad; a little slow during some parts; lots of twists and turns. Didn’t see the ending coming until it appeared. Pretty well written in my opinion. Defiantly worth a credit . Narration was good. Glad I took a chance on this novel!

Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Wonderful book!
Revisado: 01-18-23
Wonderful book but hard story at times. Full of twists and turns with interesting characters. A boys life filled with sorrow, hard decisions and wrong and right decisions. Well written. The narration was perfect! Well worth the credit. Best book I’ve read/listened to in a while although heart wrenching at times.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Boring
Revisado: 01-12-23
I don’t understand the many 5 star reviews. In general there were either 5 star reviews or very low star reviews; no in between. Makes me wonder if I was reading the same book. The difference in the writing style and vocabulary was quite different at times as well. The first few chapters and the military service portions for instance. So much complaining about others for every perceived wrong. It sounded so whiney, and boastful and immature. Plus recollections certainly vary from their interviews as compared in this book. The author comes across as very immature, spiteful and holier than thou. He blames a large part of his perceived woes on the media and his family. I would have requested my credit back, but I did listen to the whole book although it took me several days as I tended to fall asleep quite often. This is a boring book full of whining, crying and blaming others. Save your credit.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Not the best in the series but ok. Drags on a bit here and there with lots of talk of class stations. At some times predictable. Not bad enough to return but by the end glad it was over.

Ruth Wariner was the 39th of her father's 42 children. Growing up on a farm in rural Mexico, where authorities turned a blind eye to the practices of her community, Ruth lives in a ramshackle house without indoor plumbing or electricity. At church, preachers teach that God will punish the wicked by destroying the world and that women can ascend to heaven only by entering into polygamous marriages and giving birth to as many children as possible.
