Great story
Revisado: 12-12-24
I love the story, but as a native New Englander, I was so distracted by the horrible Massachusetts accent for the first half of this book that it was difficult for me to pay attention. That said, it was a great story! Sara Goodman Confino doesn’t disappoint!

Revisado: 09-08-24
I love lighthouses, and Dolin is one of my favorite historians! I didn’t even know this book existed, and it came up as a suggestion on Audible. It may have even been a free listen for me. What a great surprise. I learned so very much from this book about all those beacons that helped our nation.

Historia
In a sleepy seaside town in Maine, recently widowed Eveleth "Evvie" Drake rarely leaves her large, painfully empty house nearly a year after her husband’s death in a car crash. Everyone in town, even her best friend, Andy, thinks grief keeps her locked inside, and Evvie doesn’t correct them. Meanwhile, in New York City, Dean Tenney, former Major League pitcher and Andy’s childhood best friend, is wrestling with what miserable athletes living out their worst nightmares call the "yips": he can’t throw straight anymore, and, even worse, he can’t figure out why.
