Marco suffers severe injuries - ones that could prevent his ever walking again. His sister, Guiliana Leoni, is unable to leave Italy in time to wait for his arrival at Walter Reed.

Yes. The narrator does a great job of making you feel like the conversations are personal with feeling and honesty.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Once a Soldier?
Chapter 13 is very moving.
What does Cheri Gardner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
There is an intimacy that the narrator brings that makes the characters real. Nuances add to the dimension of the story and characters.

The author is refreshingly intelligent. I read the book and loved it. The audio book is even better! Loved the music intro, too!!!
