Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Entertaining and Enjoyable
Revisado: 02-14-17
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The soldier and Skippy interactions are funny. Skippy is an "Alpha Hotel". If you are looking for David Weber type novel it would miss the mark. However, it is reasonably fast paced, lots of action and light and entertaining. There is enough detail in the conversations and background information to see the scene or even feel like you're part of it. I look forward to the next book.

Historia
Earth is conquered. Sol is lost. One ship is tasked to free them. One Captain to save them all. When an alien armada destroys the United Earth Space Force and takes control of the human homeworld, newly reinstated Captain Annette Bond must take her experimental hyperspace cruiser Tornado into exile as Terra's only interstellar privateer. She has inferior technology, crude maps, and no concept of her enemy, but the seedy underbelly of galactic society welcomes her so long as she has prizes to sell and money to spend.

Historia
When Tudor explorers returned from the New World, they brought back a name out of half-forgotten Viking legend: skraylings. Red-sailed ships followed in the explorers’ wake, bringing Native American goods - and a skrayling ambassador – to London. But what do these seemingly magical beings really want in Elizabeth I’s capital? Mal Catlyn, a down-at-heel swordsman, is appointed to the ambassador’s bodyguard, but assassination attempts are the least of his problems.

I will never be able to finish reading this book. For me I find the moral reality being promoted in this novel to be offensive. I made a mistake purchasing this book!

Another exeptional read
Revisado: 04-08-13
Quaeryt, secretly an imager of questionable skill and a professed scholar persuades Bhayar, a school friend, and ruler to send him to Tilbor. Quaeryt has never received formal imager training as there is just trial an error if you want to keep it secret. This is in itself is a challenge, throw in the challenges of the journey a number of competing and powerful land owners with different perspectives on the future of Tilbor and a Governor of questionable character we have the makings for a great story. I absolutely enjoyed this book. The flow of the book is very much as a dialogue that makes one feel like we are there and listening first hand. The narration is excellent and bring out the characters personalities.

I really enjoy this series
Revisado: 04-04-13
There are story lines and sub plots, and intersecting and diverging relationships, challenging new worlds and conflicting ideologies that lead to war, advanced technologies and creatures with new talents. What more could you ask for in great SF Novel! All the pieces are here, great plot line and rich well developed characters, exceptional leadership and inept. The narration is outstanding. Read or listen to the first book if you have not already done so. Once I started listening to the book I couldn't stop. When does the next book hit the street?! Keep writing Kevin and Brian. Well done as usual Scott.

It’s Gin Blanco's party - and you’ll cry if she wants you to. Against her better judgment, Gin is coerced into attending a high-society gala with the rest of Ashland's elite underworld. On display: the priceless art collection of her deceased nemesis, Mab Monroe, and an excess of crime-boss swagger. While not comfortable in her fancy attire, Gin gets vastly more interested in the evening’s events when a group of thieves bursts in and tries to seize the valuable, dangerous gems.

Another Great Book in this Series
Revisado: 04-01-13
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and this book has continued this tradition. The Spider continues to be the consummate playing field leveler as she continues to negate the criminal influences in her town. This time It's lots of them and they are all giants who have caught the who's who at a party and they're all being robbed. They think they have killed the Spider - shame they didn't do a better job of confirming it. Faced with daunting odds after having avoided being killed - the question is can she win?
The narration is excellent and Lauren does a great job of bringing the characters to life.
Enjoy!

Great Story
Revisado: 01-13-13
This is a great twist on vampire stories. There are a lot of characters that are developed during this story and it seem just as you think you have figured out who's who things change. The story continues to develop right through to the end so you'll need to read the book. There is a good conclusion at the end and we're left wanting to read the next book.
This is fantasy and romance novel but I enjoyed the story. I will read the next book.

In Atticus O’Sullivan’s case, they’re upset enough to come after him to make sure he dies for real this time. Revisado: 12-01-12
As with all the books in this series, once started I couldn't put it down. What more could you ask for in a SF series than a reserve superhero who thumbs his nose at gods, elves, elementals, Witches, vampires, Dwarves, etc. He real doesn't seek confrontation but it just seems like as a result of having lived so long he has annoyed them and they want him dead. He's training an apprentice and she's no slouch. He's already a force to be reckoned with, what in the world will happen when there is two of them?
