The narration was actually quite welcome. I enjoyed having different voices and accents to keep me entertained. The story was only okay. Seemed a long and unnecessary way to go for such a weak ending. I literally listened to the last chapter 3x to see if I'd missed something, and unfortunately, I hadn't. Listen if you have to kill time, but not for a satisfying read.

Ending is ludicrous

Took me way too long to finish this book, but I was determined. I don't always listen every day, so it was exceptionally hard to keep all of the characters and timelines straight. Had great potential but terrible execution.

So out of touch with reality!

I appreciated the few endearing moments, but I not sure I've ever listened to a book and hated someone more!! I'm an alcoholic myself and have many friends currently and in the past with much worse addictions, so I am not a judgemental person. However, I have never been around someone so completely unaware of their privilege. I am honestly shocked his team let this happen but I guess money is money. This book will have you digging for the few treasures it offers, and I genuinely don't know if I'm rooting for his rich, entitled ass to ever do anything beyond donating money. Super oof.
Also, the constant slurred speech is never talked about, but it should be. I can only assume it is a result of his lifestyle, but as blatant as it is, I do not ever recall hearing anything about it. It seems to me that would be an effective warning.?

Only listen if you are already a fan of Spade.

Decent book and definitely started off strong, but if you hate his roles on Just Shoot Me and/or Rules of Engagement, I'd skip it. He went way too hard on the constant mouth hole sound effects, but I'm a fan so I'd still recommend it. Just maybe have a backup for when you get sick of him, and you will.
