Historia
In its heyday, The Golden Hotel was the crown jewel of the hotter-than-hot Catskills vacation scene. For more than sixty years, the Goldman and Weingold families - best friends and business partners - have presided over this glamorous resort which served as a second home for well-heeled guests and celebrities. But the Catskills are not what they used to be - and neither is the relationship between the Goldmans and the Weingolds.

I Loved the generational story. The characters were totally believable. I’ve never been to the Catskills, but have heard many stories of the fun times.

Pronounce correctly please
Revisado: 03-18-23
Conch is pronounced “konk”. Ask any native of south Florida. It’s frustrating when readers or the producers don’t double check the correct pronunciation.

Two mistakes
Revisado: 12-13-20
In this book, Barbie (the puppy) was a boy when he was given to Annabelle. Later in the book Barbie was referred to as a girl. Was the puppy a boy or a girl?
In the previous book, chicken fried steak was cooked for lead character. The author talked about him cutting into his chicken to eat. Chicken fried steak is cubed steak, not chicken.
These may be little things, but should be caught by author or editor .

Fall. Autumn. It doesn't matter what you call it, I hate it. I despise pumpkins, Halloween, and the overwhelming sense of dread as the cold and damp move in. But when my new chauffeur drives up in a hearse, Halloween carols blaring, I realize there will be no escape from the holiday.

Not funny
Revisado: 11-27-20
I could not finish this book. The characters are vapid. I understand this is a series, and that this is not the first book, but It really made no difference because none of the characters were realistic or worth caring about. The men behave like boys and yet the reader is to believe they run successful companies. The main female character was competent when planning parties but fell apart when dealing with her mother.
Don’t bother with this book .

Don’t waste your time
Revisado: 08-22-20
I forced myself to finish listening to this book. The story has been done better many times in movies, plays and books. Girl gets stood up by loser boyfriend, girl gets stranger to play boyfriend because of family pressure. The book goes back and forth between two unlikeable families. One family has not payed enough attention to their children, while the other family smothers their children . Grudges held for years are resolved in one paragraph. There are too many characters for any real character development.
The sugary adjectives in every sentence drove me crazy.
Also, the reader mispronounced conch.
Don’t waste your time and money on this book.

Disappointing
Revisado: 12-19-19
I loved the first book in this series, but A Brand New Ending fell short. I couldn’t find any connection with Kyle. Even in the end he seemed immature and shallow. It took 10 years for him to suddenly need his wife? They had grown up together and there was No communication at all in those years?
Mia and Ethan , from book one, were written as 16 yr olds, with Mia whining and Ethan getting drunk on shots.
The editor and writer missed identifying the dog the same each time. Charlie is referees to as a lab and German Shepard- which was he?
I’ve already purchased the 3 rd book in this series, so I’m hoping it will be less contrived.

Venus Thibodeaux had a reputation for being trouble. Some said she started at birth. When she finally left Sinful shortly after turning 18, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. When she blew back into town four years later, no one was happy about her return. She immediately launched into her same old scams, picking off Sinful residents with ease before disappearing again as quickly as she’d appeared.

Historia
Georgie, or Lady Georgiana Rannoch, is busy planning her upcoming nuptials to Darcy O'Mara. Unfortunately, what has started as a simple wedding has become quite a royal headache and grand affair, thanks to a guest list that includes the queen and the appointment of princesses as Georgie's bridesmaids. “If only Darcy and I had eloped!” she thinks, as she attempts to organize her wedding and find a place for her and her husband-to-be to live. Just as she despairs of ever finding a home, her godfather offers his fully staffed country estate. But something sinister is afoot....

Terrible reader
Revisado: 09-01-19
I’ve listened to all of these books. Sorry to hear the original reader has passed away. She is greatly missed. Jasmine Blackborow does not have the correct style for these books. Georgie comes across as someone with no humor or softness. She makes Belinda sound like a spoiled child. The other supporting characters don’t fare much better. There is a hardness to jasmine’s voice that makes all the characters sound stiff and unpleasant . I’m hoping that future books in this series are read by someone else.

Historia
Millions of words have poured forth about man's trip to the moon, but until now few people have had a sense of the most engrossing side of the adventure: namely, what went on in the minds of the astronauts themselves - in space, on the moon, and even during certain odysseys on earth. It is this, the inner life of the astronauts, that Tom Wolfe describes with his almost uncanny empathetic powers that made The Right Stuff a classic.

Great book- terrible reader
Revisado: 07-21-19
I read this book years ago and looked forward to listening to it again. Dennis Quaid was awful. He mispronounced many words and at times sounded like it was the first time he had read the sentence. I wonder if he just stumbled in from a night out to read . I almost returned the book but I don’t have time to sit and read and so I continued. It’s sad that a better reader was not hired .
