Post apocalypse with no zombies

I enjoyed the story, but didn't really feel like I'd taken a journey by the end. I was intrigued by the genre mixing of pandemic post apocalypse with Shakespeare. I'm sure I'm missing a point somewhere. I just kept thinking, "Why not live in a house? There's no zombies." or, "Did this pandemic really kill off everyone who understands electricity or gasoline production?" I'm a big fan of the narrator though, and I will give the author another shot. I think this one just may not have been right for me.

I loved this story. I didn't think I was going to make it through all the science jargon, but the humor was woven in so perfectly that it was enjoyably digestible. I burned through this book in 3 days.

Where does Vicious rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's right up toward the top.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I'm as bad with character names as I am with real people's names, but the dogs were my favorite. Shea really gave voice to the two characters who can't actually speak.
Have you listened to any of Shea Taylor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my first, but it won't be my last. Looking forward to more Shea.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!
Any additional comments?
I can't say I'm a fan of alternate endings outside of choose-your-own-adventure books; at least not in the original publication. That said, Shea handled both as if they were the one true ending.
