Classes may be done but paws needed to graduate
Revisado: 06-25-20
Great to be back with the Alpha class as they warp up the louse ends, have new endeavors, trusted friends and new companions. Loads of laughs, finding one’s life path and having more “paws” on deck to help get the job done by doing what is right if even if it is not easy. A wonder tail once again.

engaging mystery with depth
Revisado: 05-19-19
A wonderful well thought out mystery full of twists and turns that all follow a logical path but lead in different directions. A path that digs into the past of a family, their interaction with the people around them, and desire of those people to keep secrets of that past hidden. Who is telling the truth or is it a half truth.
The characters are believable and well developed, shares their memories from their own point of view.
Looking forward to the next in the series.

Historia
Vampire Alexis Black is on a mission - to rejoin the human race. Coerced into signing an ironclad contract by an angel-with-attitude, Alexis must hunt down and assassinate at least one vampire, werewolf, or creepy crawly every night for 50 years to become human again. Too bad the contract didn’t mention the badass vampire who now rides shotgun in her brain, insatiable bloodlust, or her new I-hate-everything-with-fangs sidekick. If she can fulfill her end of the bargain, her humanity is restored, if not she will be destroyed.

A good new take on vampires
Revisado: 03-26-19
A good new take on vampires; with one that is trying to get out of the “life” or her un-life as a vamp. Nice world building with out feeling that you are getting an info dump. You will meet a verity of people from various realms in immortal and mortal life. If you like your leading lady with snark and heart, able to hold her own in a fight without being over the top; then this is a series you will get into. I will enjoy getting more in this series.

a wild ride with a side of laughts
Revisado: 01-25-17
This is a great series. A mix of magic, fay, vampires and demi-Gods. The main magic user gets his power from necromancy; but not by going out and raising the dead. More of the life force that they had when they pasted. Damian Vesic is the shop owner who keep his supernatural side of the shop just under the surface form the everyday people who have no clue of what really goes on in the world around them. The wonderful interaction between Damian and his companions shows humor and loyalty of a long standing deep friendship through many hard won battles and allies lost.
Those who enjoy the Dresden files, will also enjoy the depth and growth of these books but with their own style and twists.

A nice cozy mystery. A bit over done on all the fashion descriptions, but that might just be me. It did give a good start to laying the ground work for the upcoming series.

Historia
*My name is Ellis DeAngelo.* I tend to get caught in the midst of trouble quite often. I'm an unlucky guy, but fortunate to have friends to help me out. These aren't the memoirs of a geisha you'll be hearing. And most definitely not some soul-searching discovery that depicts eating, praying, and loving. This is so much better...or worse, depending on your perspective.

A chipmunk on cappuccino is less distracted
Revisado: 11-26-16
On the Hit List by Timothy Dalton
This book had a good concept but lost it’s way in the over A.D.D. rambling of first person narration. I get the concept that the story is told as a collage age guy, but my 2 year old could hold on to a thought longer and be less distracted in a toy store. The story could have been told in about 20 min. the rest of the 4 ½ hour book was side fluff slightly clueless frat boy that repeated himself endless in his own mind.

a great ride in Car 54 (Where are you?)

Lady Justice Takes A C.R.A.P. by Robert Thornhill
What a ride. Anyone who is of an age that can remember the TV show “Car 54 Where are your” will love all the little gems of laughs spread out in the book. Readers of any generation will enjoy the out of the box thinking of a Sr. citizen age rookie cop who has to find of a way out of a situation that a long time officer would handle with a more ruff and in your face approach.
I am looking forward to following the ongoing adventures of this series.

good start to a cop and her con series
Revisado: 11-08-16
A fast pasted crime /cop mystery that gives you time to get to really like and know some of the back story to the main players. There is more to them than just stereotypes. As the investigation progresses, you follow the twists and turns in the lives of the cop with her suspect and his some what shady associates. The conversations are believable and humorous. I will definitely go on with the series to see the growing relationship of the cop and the con’s feelings for each grow.

This is the 9 book in the Myrtle Clover Cozy mystery series. If you liked the first 8 books you might enjoy this one as well. It just was not my cup of tea as it was way too “folksy” in myrtle forgetting things and playing up the “I’m just an old lady”, when she was more mentally with it then not.
The story line moved along nicely for a cozy mystery. The narration was done well and the different people were well portrayed. I might have gotten more enjoyment from the book if I started at the start of the series and had known all of the down home folk’s personalities.
