Historia
A thought-provoking work on one of the least understood - but most powerful - disciplines of Christianity. Most believers know about fasting, but few of us really understand the wonderful benefits that come when we fast with purpose and direction. Written in Dr. Elmer Towns' dynamic, descriptive style, this title gives the why of fasting, rather than just the how. Towns' avoids a glut of techniques and schedules; instead he provides a probing look at Isaiah 58, often called "the fasting passage."

Historia
The church needs a new perspective on its responsibility for the deep racial brokenness at the heart of American culture. This book makes a compelling historical and theological case for the church's obligation to provide reparations for the oppression of African Americans. Duke Kwon and Gregory Thompson articulate the church's responsibility for its promotion and preservation of white supremacy throughout history, investigate the Bible's call to repent and make restitution, and offer concrete examples of the work of reparation at the local level.

Historia
In her New York Times best seller White Rage, Carol Anderson laid bare an insidious history of policies that have systematically impeded black progress in America, from 1865 to our combustible present. With One Person, No Vote, she chronicles a related history: the rollbacks to African American participation in the vote since the 2013 Supreme Court decision that eviscerated the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Known as the Shelby ruling, this decision effectively allowed districts with a demonstrated history of racial discrimination to change voting requirements without approval from the Department of Justice.

Historia
In The Second, historian and award-winning author Carol Anderson powerfully illuminates the history and impact of the Second Amendment, how it was designed and how it has consistently been constructed to keep African Americans powerless and vulnerable. The Second is neither a 'pro-gun' nor an 'anti-gun' book; the lens is the citizenship rights and human rights of African Americans.

Historia
As Ferguson, Missouri, erupted in August 2014 and media commentators across the ideological spectrum referred to the angry response of African Americans as 'Black rage', historian Carol Anderson wrote a remarkable op-ed in the Washington Post showing that this was, instead, 'white rage at work. With so much attention on the flames,' she wrote, 'everyone had ignored the kindling.'

Historia
In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

Before I listened to this book I didn’t possess a very high opinion of the author. That has changed somewhat because it is evident that she sincerely loves this country, its constitution, and its ideals. I wish I could say that about all of our elected representatives.

Don't agree with his opinions but admire his candor
Revisado: 08-14-23
The book was very well done and has enough consistent naivete to seem honest. Before I listened to this book I did not admire Justice Thomas very much. Before listening to this book I did not agree with his judicial philosophy and rulings. And before I listened to this book Justice Thomas seemed enigmatic and bewildering. Now after listening to this book Justice Thomas seems a little bit more understandable, not as bewildering, and less of a caricature. Nonetheless, I still don't share, understand, or sympathize with judicial philosophy and his political ideas. His story tells of pain, of prejudice, and disappointment that he has not fully come to truthful terms with. I hope that he does. Because then he will have the freedom and peace that he longs for!

Very very well written and eloquently presented. All school children should be taught this rather than the lies and pleasant fables that are now sold has history. If Americans truly want to be free they should remember that Jesus said,”And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”John 8:32 Lies and feel good myths and fables will only bring hatred, hubris, hypocrisy, and hysteria.
