If you want a detailed explicit sex scene over and over and over and over again this is your book. If you want a drama about a K-9 I would look elsewhere. To bad, it could have been a really good story.

Struggled to stay with the language but midway through the characters with the poor ability to articulate disappeared into the background and the storyline came into the forefront and drew me in. It was refreshing.

An eye-opener for change!

As a foster "Gran-T" it saddens my heart that we....the foster parents have made such a bad name for ourselves. Instead of a group of people who are known for their great love and care of children we are making children feel they are "rent a kids", unloved and abused at a whole different level. We are known as a selfish, uncaring group looking for a paycheck. That can change!!
The "system" is another change that needs to be.made!! Children should be protected nationwide. The state to state "jurisdiction" must somehow end!! The bureaucracy must STOP!! I could not believe that Jesse could not be protected even with such evidence. I cannot believe that today a young 9 year old who has always lived with his grandparents, later stripped from his home to live with a recovering drug addict daddy is now in foster care! His dad, unable to refrain from the drugs that bound him for so many years was arrested. They did not put him back with "gannie" (where he begged to go)....instead he was fostered and found trying to hand himself!! Did they (the powers that be) send them to "gannie" ....No.....he was sent to a mental institution kicking and screaming and then to a behavioral "school" hours from home. They say his 8 year old sister is "acting out" and will "be next"!! In 2019 the care of foster children is as flawed as in 2012. This child will probably never have a book written about him and chances are statistically the ending will be grim.
Thank you for telling your story! I can't say I "enjoyed" it in any way. Sometimes I just wanted to put it away. However, maybe it has sparked a righteous anger in me that will motivate me to make a difference. No child should endure that life.....not one!!
