Action Packed!!
Revisado: 10-26-21
If you are interested in non stop action, this is for you. I really enjoyed learning counter terrorism techniques. It was interesting to hear or read the terrorist perspective as well how ever misguided. Sons of Valor was a really good listen. I’m anxiously anticipating the next book in this series!

I wanted a book to add knowledge about AI but it was mostly about AI’s having consciousness and a soul. I really wanted to learn about advances in technology. It was mostly about people disliking AI and terror attacked against it.

Historia
In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

Good Story....George Guidall...Awesome Reader!
Revisado: 08-04-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Interesting story. Excellent reader.
What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He has great inflection and is easy to listen to.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, but the description would have to come with a spoiler alert.
Any additional comments?
This is my first foray into the Dark Tower. I am not sure if I get the premise yet. The story is just developing in this book but imagining the scene was interesting and the writing is very good.

Useful facts and History while entertaining
Revisado: 04-09-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would recommend to a friend, because as the headline reads, the book is entertaining while explaining interesting history. For example where the term "chemistry" is derived. It is part of the story line and I don't feel like I'm listening to a history lesson. In fact the book is action packed...someone's fighting, shooting, getting shot, kidnapped, etc.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sanctuary?
I plan to listen to the entire book again and note interesting historical facts that I may have forgot because I was on the edge of my seat during a gun fight!
What about Richard Ferrone’s performance did you like?
Richard Ferrone is always a good reader. He gets it!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reactions, just constant entertainment and knowledge sharing.
Any additional comments?
Any one that likes Dan Brown would enjoy this book. I am not a huge Dan Brown fan but I enjoy listening to action packed books and learning something in the process.

There he gets the glimpse of Todd’s wife he’s hoping for...but she is not Natalie....

Reader way too Dramatic
Revisado: 04-09-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone that has a vivid imagination and is not concerned with details.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Mitch Rapp or Dave Robecheaux
How could the performance have been better?
The reader was simply annoying. If the reader had been more realistic like George Guidall or Richard Feronne may the story line would have been more believable.
What character would you cut from Six Years?
The main character, Professor Jake whats his name. Really? a professor who works in academia daily can beat up hardened mob muscle. A 30+ professor who's only altercations were his experiences as a bouncer in college.
Any additional comments?
The ending was good enough. Even parts of the story line and getting to the truth was sort of interesting. But it would have been better if the professor was into boxing or some sort of martial arts which made it slightly believable that he would not fear dangerous men with guns.

the best Mitch Ripp story yet!
Revisado: 09-20-12
What did you love best about Protect and Defend?
The story did not have a dull moment. Sometimes to adequately explain a situation or political atmosphere Flynn's stories have lengthy narratives. Not in Protect and Defend! It's quick paced and an absolutely enjoyable, suspenseful read or listen.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Completely. The story is just well written. The characters are believable and Mitch is always on time!
What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?
I am very impressed by Guidall. Both my husband and I enjoy his performances. So much so that I search for books that he narrates. I can eventually learn to enjoy a reader, but my husband cannot. Guidall is our absolute favorite performer.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Nonstop action and intrigue.
Any additional comments?
The Mitch Rapp series is awesome. I typically purchase them as soon as they are available. I don't know how I missed Protect and Defend. It is definitely a favorite.
