"She'd become my cause and reason to live."

"Being alone allowed me to suffer in silence."

"I can't be the good guy you need but I can save your life."

It's steamy. It's edge of your seat suspenseful. It's romantic. It's got the best therapy protective dog! Strictly Forbidden, by consummate spicy suspense romance author Piper Stone, hits all the heart throbbing tropes.

Noel is struggling since surviving being kidnapped and tortured by a serial killer. She can't write her romance books anymore. It's suggested she gets a therapy dog to calm her anxiety and help her feel safe.

Kage, a veteran, is in prison for a murder he didn't commit. He's offered a chance at early parole if he participates in their abused dog training program. Enter Max. Scarred and scared from a despicable human, Max and Kage save each other. Then it's time to let Max go to his new owner.

It's mutual love between Noel and Max. She's not supposed to contact his trainer but, with some help, she gets a letter to him thanking him. Then Kage is released and tracks Max down. Noel doesn't know who he is but there's instant chemistry between them...and Max loves him!

The problem is the Mafia people who believe Kage is guilty and want revenge and the people who know he's innocent and want to quiet him forever. Noel is his weakness. A deadly one.

If you have never listened to voice actor Skyler Morgan start now. In this dual POV he gives Kage his vulnerability and his growly protective alpha who loves his dog. With Noel, he gives her voice the inner strength the writer infused within her.

Strictly speaking, there's nothing forbidden about enjoying some time with "...two damaged souls and one fluffy dog."

"He wants to slay dragons for me."

"You make me feel loved."
"You are."

Having a bad day? Work was too much this week? Weather got you down? The answer is get your favorite drink, snack and cuddle blanket and read (or listen to) the hilarious feel good The Roommate Mistake, by the queen of sexy sweet sports romcoms, Pippa Grant.

Last week I got an early birthday present (Today's my birthday!) when I received a surprise package with 2 different covers on it. One with a sexy rugby athlete and the other the adorable cover above.
Once I started reading the crazy wild meet cute between Holt and Ziggy I couldn't stop...until I found out that the comedic talent Kit Swann and the deep sensual voice of Connor Crais were the voices for the audiobook. So worth the treat to myself. Listening to these two brings all of this writer's creative fun, swoon, drama, steam and love to life.

He's injured. She's pregnant (not his baby). Unlikely roommates. His dog hates him. His dog loves her. She can only eat potatoes because of morning sickness. He calls her baby bump Tater Tot. They're falling in like. Uh oh! He didn't know her step dad owns his rugby team. She didn't either. Number one rule, don't date the owner's daughter! And never ask about Naked Tuesdays😬

This rom com got me out of a funk. It made me laugh, cry a bit and believe there are men who will still slay dragons, or team owners, for their lady. Also, sometimes a mistake leads to the right path.

Sweltering Steamy Age Gap Billionaire Marriage Of Convenience Romance!

"...from the moment I saw her, I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. Not even the fact she was going to marry my son stopped me from wanting her. And when I realized Felix had stood her up, I seized the opportunity. At my age, you don’t wait for the right moment. You know that these feelings come around but once in a lifetime; so when you feel this strongly about a woman, you don’t hesitate. You claim her, and keep her, and worship her, and take care of her, so she never wants for anything. It also means, you protect her with everything you have."

Quentin never stood a chance as he watched Vivian walk down the aisle to marry Felix...his son. He fell hard. He fell fast. When Felix doesn't show up, he grabs his chance and proposes to Vivian.

Only the up for anything, don't dare me, I'll do it, sweltering steamy romance author L. Steele would start her age gap billionaire marriage of convenience romance, The Imperfect Marriage, with this wild premise.

Vivian needs money for her family. Felix, her best friend, from a rich family, says he loves her. She's devastated when he stands her up at the altar but that doesn't mean she can marry his father...or can she?

I love a dual narration and voice actor Shane East delivers as the older, sexy, drool worthy, dirty talking Quentin. The sweet innocent performance of voice actress Stella Hunter enhances Vivian's strength to fight for Quentin when he believes he loves her too much to keep her in this unconventional relationship.

Switching between reading and listening to this angsty romance gave me better insight into Quentin's struggles with guilt as a former soldier, an absentee father, and his need to marry. A standalone, book 2, of The Davenports, is a perfectly imperfect romance.

"What flavors do you like?"
"Anything wickedly delicious."

"I both hated and craved this man."

Wickedly delicious sums up perfectly the delectable sexy Royal Mistake by renowned steamy romance author Piper Stone. In Book 1 of her new Royal Players Club series she holds nothing back in creating a couple who not only burn for one another but burn down those who wrong them.

When Selena accidentally texts the wrong number to a possible date arranged by her bestie she has no idea that she's starting a relationship with Valerio Royal, the son of her father's enemy and number one competition in their Media corporation wars.

She's left her father's firm to pursue her dream of opening a bakery on her own. When Valerio finally meets Selena after days on the phone together he is done with his billionaire most eligible bachelor title. Then they realize their dads are fierce rivals. To convince Selena they need to marry to save it all; he whisks her off to his private island where, with his brothers, he owns an exclusive club. It's known only to those, like Valerio who lean toward certain sexual proclivities, of which he can't wait to get Selena to submit to once he introduces her to his lifestyle.

Voice actor Skyler Morgan's seductive tone leaves no doubt that Valerio is in charge. He also gives Selena her strength to stand up for herself to make her dreams come true.

This author has written an intriguing multi-genre romance. Valerio and Selena start as strangers to lovers, become enemies to lovers, then are in an arranged marriage. When it all comes together it's truly explosive. Oh, did I mention there's a murder to solve too? Make no mistake, this romance is a royal flush to the heart.

Hot Steamy Bad Boy Good Girl Military Romance

"First thought that came into your mind when you saw me at the bar."

"Trouble."

"I don't need you to live my life. I want you in my life to make it worth living."

The hot steamy Crazy Good by, knows how to bring the spice, romance author, Rachel Robinson, might leave you heated after reading or listening to it. I know it burned my eyes and ears (and heart) after doing both.

Chapter one of Crazy Good is startling as we watch the overly cautious, for a very good reason, Windsor, slowly get her heart broken after allowing herself to fall in love for 1 year, 8 months, 21 days and 18 hours. Chapter two begins 1 year, 8 months, 21 days and 18 hours ago.

Bad boy Navy Seal "Maverick" is the screw 'em and leave 'em kind of guy. There's no love involved; that is until he makes eye contact with Windsor. Her turning him down is more dangerous than any of his missions.

She makes him work for that first date. Fortunately, they have great mutual friends in Morganna and Stone, that help them along. It's a shock to Windsor when Maverick wants to take things slow, "Everything in my life is fast and fleeting...I want to do one thing slow. Not crazy...just good and right."

With his growly timber, voice actor Marc Bachmann brings the sexy vibes but it's his vulnerability that makes Maverick's redemption from drinking bad boy to the man Windsor deserves that is swoon worthy. Voice actress Shirl Rae gives all the emotions that make Windsor human.

The last 30 percent of this book left me stunned with a twist I didn't see coming but I figured out what Chapter one was really all about. This dual POV military romance has the over protective alpha, the angst, the steam but most of all the crazy good kind of love.

"Someone had hurt this woman...He'd never hurt her."

"Why can't they be on the same side."

Sides are definitely blurred in the tension filled Concealed by the Tide by, meticulously descriptive, sets the scene perfectly, author Zara West. From the nail biting ocean drama to the losing fighting their attraction battle, the writer brings Summer and Gil to their full potential.

First, the scenery is vivid as this suspenseful romance starts in a small fishing town in Nova Scotia. Gil's arrival is met with disdain as he is from the company that has placed a tidal turbine on the bottom of the ocean where this town earns its revenue from their fishing boats. Gil promises them he's only there to study the effect of the turbine on the lobsters and make sure there's no environmental harm to them. He is actually there to find and stop a saboteur who has already tried to bomb the turbine.

Summer arrives in town to organize a peaceful protest against the turbine but also has ulterior motives to get a promotion at her firm EcoGreen. Summer's and Gil's first meeting is unique to say the least. But from the moment he sees her Gil is smitten.

Gil's a divorced Dad with full custody. His ex-wife is a piece of work. His young daughter Lissie is Autistic but when Mrs. Eagles, the Mary Poppins of housekeepers, shows up at his house, she is just what Lissie and Gil need to understand each other.

I was so impressed with the voice actress Linda Kutzer's ability to create such distinct realistic voices, including that of little Lissie. She really amps it up during the intense town versus Gil scenes.

The last half of this story is filled with tension, OMG twisty reveals and a romantic end. Nothing is left concealed, including this author's talent, when the tide comes in.ll

"Men like him never triumph."

Evil men will never triumph; especially with a badass heroine like Staff Sergeant Alexandra (Alex) Foster around to protect us against them. The action fueled character driven The Killing of a Shadow, by military romance thriller author J.F.Hilley, is a finely tuned suspenseful satisfying revenge story that is a ready made movie.

When Alex arrives for a year long tour in Afghanistan she realizes no amount of training can prepare you for the turmoil, danger and heat of the war torn country. Fortunately her team consists of men who become her brothers, like the young Tate; though Liam is definitely not her brother. The chemistry between them is hotter than the country's desert.

Unfortunately, she captures the attention of the abusive misogynistic Captain Marcs, whose inner thoughts include, "the power he feels when he hits a woman is like nothing he's ever felt before."

Alex tolerates him because he has chosen her to go undercover to kill the murdering racist sex trafficker known only as Shadow. But when Marcs becomes as unhinged as the infamous Shadow, Alex must find the strength to finish both of them and get revenge for herself and all the women these men think they can own.

The uniquely talented voice actress Moniqua Plante has this quiet tone to her voice that is calming for storytelling but during high pressure scenes her intense change in tone heightens Alex's emotional turmoil.

From the start you're pulled into the story, rooting for the vulnerable but far from weak Alex. This writer is killing it and is in no one's shadow.

"Happy endings only happen in massage parlors and they cost extra."

In the 5th and final book of the fantastic 5 Star rated Wicked Awake series, Wicked Awake: Happy Endings Cost Extra, by brilliant demented horror author Merrill David, we get everything we wanted and more to send off our heroes.

The 1%, responsible for the undead in their failed evil "Invincible Warriors" project, have one final diabolical plan to destroy the America they claim to love and protect. What they don't expect is for super soldier, slowly turning into a super zombie, marine veteran, the truest of heroes, Jake Hathaway, fighting to stay awake until he saves the world. He knows he needs help so here comes his loyal band of misfits ready to do battle.

Once again, voice actor C.J.Grey gives his all with fierce intensity, from powerful confrontations, deadly fights, and heartbreaking farewells. In between he brings the laughter with wise ass snarkiness.

In every 5 Star review I left for each previous audiobook, I pleaded for the most loyal Belgian Malinois, Roscoe, to survive, and (SPOILER) he's living his best life with Sarah Connors, the Doberman Pincher. I need a puppy!

With super power red squirrel zombies, flying pigs, vodka tampons (don't ask), a nod to horror icon Alfred Hitchcock, a few Easter eggs from the author's other books, and, oh yeah, zombies, this award worthy series comes to the only possible conclusion with a bang. This series is The Boys on steroids, Fallout super sized and the The Walking Dead come alive. Thank you Mr.David for keeping me wide awake and entertained for the last 4 years.

Epic Sweeping Saga Greek Family Drama

"Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies. That's what we are, one sole."

"Biology doesn't make a father, love does.

"He lives in the shadow of the man I truly loved."

These quotes are just a tiny sample of the epic themes and emotions explored throughout book one of the sweeping Gift Saga trilogy, Evanthia's Gift, by expansive emotionally expressive author Effie Kammenou.

The story begins in 1956 with Anastacia (Ana), coming home early and finding her husband in bed with another woman. She leaves him, never telling him about her pregnancy and fulfills her life being a mother to Sophia with her Greek family and their heritage protecting them. Then she meets Alexandros. I believe he is the gift in this life spanning story. His love for Ana and Sophia is the strength for both of them as they deal with the curves we all navigate in life.

The second half is Sophia's early adult life in the 1970s. She's always loved Dean and though he loves her too, he rebels against his family's Greek traditions wanting to forge his own path and that doesn't include Sophia. I felt pride in Sophia as she follows her dreams despite her broken heart and at the end how both her and Ana's story comes full circle.

There is not enough praise to bestow upon voice actress Emily Lawrence. Whether it's main, side or inconsequential characters or a NY, Midwest or Greek accent she gives award-worthy performances.

Over 17 hours, the Evanthia's Gift audiobook surprised, saddened, humbled and engulfed me into the rich Greek traditions with awesome recipes, family holidays and profound unconditional love. This is a completed trilogy so I will be listening to the future generations of this family and the descriptive creative gifts of this talented writer.

"You're a friend until proven otherwise."

Last Call At The Local by romance author Sarah Grinder Ruiz oozes charm with its endearing lead characters Jack and Raine. Though book 3 of the Love, Lists & Fancy Ships series it's easily
a standalone.

Leaving med school and the U. S. to busk around Europe playing guitar, trying to get the courage to sing her original songs, Raine sits in the quiet bar, The Local, contemplating her next move since her guitar and money were stolen a few hours ago.

Enter the handsome and very tattooed Jack, co-owner of the pub who flirts, teases and somehow convinces Raine to help him and his brother Ollie revitalize The Local. She can take the apartment upstairs, that comes with the cuddly cat Sebastian, and help bring music, games and laughter back to the pub and maybe to Jack too.

As Jack and Raine grow close their mental health leaves them so vulnerable. In this first person dual POV this writer brilliantly puts us in their struggling minds. Raine's dealing with her ADHD but she almost sabotages opening night because she can't finish all the ideas she started at once; it nearly destroys any self confidence she has worked to believe in.

Jack's mind is even scarier because he tries to hide his OCD. When he can't he blames himself for the loss of control over his thoughts with such violent tirades at himself that it breaks your heart. "I want a little time to be Jack before I'm Jack with OCD...I just want you to think the best of me."

I learned so much about ADHD and OCD. Mainly that I have no idea what a struggle it is for those who suffer with it. I'll never again make a joke that I'm OCD about something. I fell in love with Jack and Raine. Don't wait for the last call to fall for them too.
